Default 40K miles, about to install TRD Springs......

Would it be stupid to install trd springs on a car with 40K on the stock struts?

If I do install TRD springs on my OEM struts, how long could I expect them to last before blowing? Would it be worth it?

Im debating whether or not to just buy some trd struts and install everything together....

Let me know if anybody here has any advice. Thanks!

If you decide you want a set of TRD struts, you could buy mine; check the link in my signature.

With that many miles, I would say it isnt a good idea. TRD springs have been successfully run many, many miles on stock struts, but since you already have 40,000 on them, you may as well change them now while you have it all apart.

hmm, I think I might have to, even though I dont really have the funds....

Well, do you guys think I could possibly get to 70-80K before the stockers blow?

It's really hard to tell. It really depends on the road conditions and how you drive. Do you just run over railroads or speed bumps?? Or you slow down for them? Do you try and avoid every pot hole you see on the road?? Or it doesn't matter to you? If you are a careful driver and you avoid these things then I think you might be able to get about maybe 40k more miles out of ur struts. But if you just drive and don't care about the obstacles on the road, then it's better you get new struts. TRD springs are that severe of a drop so I think you might be able to get 40k miles.

Yeah, Im a carefull driver, try to avoid any hazardous conditions....

I dont have 500$ for trd shcoks, so I think Im going to go ahead and throw the trd setup on and pray they last to 75-80K to make it worthwhile.

If anyone has an experience with this let me know.

youre saving yourself time and trouble in the long run.

unless youre gettin a shop to do it

then youre saving time, trouble and money in the long run.

one install charge instead of 2. i wish i would have had the money for struts when i put my springs on.

I have TRD Springs and Struts in boxes. I got the springs back in November and saw the difference between OEM & TRD struts. Didn't like it. Everyone here told me to do both springs and struts on the same installation. Put a order in TRD struts; turns out within couple of weeks of me buying them. My rear right OEM started showing minor signs of wear.

Now, I have major signs on the rear right and also minor signs of rear left. Talking about good timing. I'm waiting for my cousin to install them for me and I think he wants to do that on warmer day; not 10 degrees.
