Default TurboToyotas tC vs Subaru WRX STI (video)

not the best vid due to batteries dying in the middle of the races.
but here is a little vid of a very humble tC with nothing but a bolt on kit, piggyback, and exhaust; racing an STI.
the clips we got are actually some of the worst from the night. damn batteries.
o well heres the link

Was the STI even racing or just taping you? Seems like you would have heard more cabin noise from exhaust and engine if he was crashing through the gears actually WOT.

Or is this just a little goofing around?

From experience I've had with cameras, once the window is down on a car, it's hard to the camera to hear the exchaust noise coming from the car it's in. The STi was almost bone stock so I assume there isn't much noise to begin with.

The Subaru looked to be legitimately racing, but it was on a roll start against a car with more whp and less weight.

Its safe to assume almost any turbo charged tC with 8+ psi and a good tune will beat any stock STi, or one with very minimal modifications.

On the 1/4 mile, it would be much closer, and depends on the mods for both vehicles.

Good race, and I'm glad the tC's can represent against the icon cars that most people see them as.

Yea you just kinda fly right by him and it hardly even looks like your trying... you just pull up next to him, wave, and smash it and zoom...bye bye STI.

I wont knock your tune lol, I haven't seen it.

If Paul and I do this event we've been working on I think a lot of people will have a good tune.

I would like to see how the next few months pan out and see what Paul and I come to. We have some things we're trying to plan for such an event.

Paul (Dezod Motorsports) is in NY. He's not too far from you and started the whole company. I'd say hit him up for some local support, he's a great guy and knows his stuff.

He and I were the ones that designed and engineered the Dezod turbo kit for the tC.

Pretty standard, I have toasted so many sti's and evos it is not funny. They only lay down about 240 to the wheels on the rollers stock. Everyone that owns a stock one thinks he has a dragster on his hands.

On the other hand, off the line, they walk me like I am sitting still haha. From a roll, specifically in 3rd I simply just walk them, check the rear view to see there jaw sitting in there lap. Always a good feeling

Only downside is you never know which one is pushing 500whp or more hahaha. Lots of sleepers out there.

you should be able to catch up from a dig at about 50-60mph and just fly by them
