Default Exhaust systems

I was wondering if anyone had advice on a good exhaust system that has a deep and low sound that isn't obnoxious as well as good performance. Also is it worth the extra $200 dollars to get a cat-back exhaust or should I just save my money and stick with an axle-back?

no axleback will give you a lot of performance. axleback's just for sound and looks. a catback might give you a 5-10 hp advantage, but that's an optimistic approximation. there are many threads on "what kind of exhuast?" topics.

get a catback. youll be glad you did.

or buy an axleback now and buy a midpipe later! then youll have a catback system!

How much do mid pipes go for? I would get a catback but I don't like the sound of them.

use this link, there's a few exhaust clips on the first page, and there's a lot more with mixed setups throughout the post. Especially my old setup found on this page https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...asc&&start=120

I have used Strup in and DC in the past. The DC was raspy and had a higher pitch sound. The Strup is very deep and awesome sounding. I still use strup on the second gen xB. I would not use any one else anymore.

^^ same, no increase in performance.. They are both axle back and the difference you will get is only sound.. Even catbacks gives minimal increase in performance unless you have forced induction. My suggestion, is to get what you think sounds better
