215! 225/40 is too big!

BOTH 215 and 225 are too small, your tire MUST Be the same width as your wheel unless you are an idiot.

sorry im too lazy to explain more but do NOT put a 215 on an 18 wheel

go to a good tire website and get some info man,
oh and go with a 40 profile if u must go 18 which I would not do anyway cause you are going to pound and shake your car apart and it will squeak and rattle and be a pain in the butt on bumps but well I could go on forever.

35's are fine. No problems whatsoever after 5K+. The Tire Rack recommends 215/35/18 tires on 18 X 7 wheels. I think you'll find most of the people on this forum are running that size with 18's. And no, we're not idiots!

sorry about that then ...

ive never heard of a 7 inch wide 18" wheel

there almost always 7.5 or 8 in width.
HEll , i believe the stock 17 oem is 7.5 wide but too lazy to look it up

But I would go with the thicker profile tire so you are not beating your car senseless.

party on then

Funny, those I know with 18x7 or 7.5 wheels run 215/35s on them. Could I and everyone else be wrong then?

Just what size wheel/tire combo do you run?

running OEM everything now

I will either get 18 TRD wheels , there only 200 a pop and sell my OEM for 100 a pop

OR get 17 Racing Hart wheels so I can have even more tire sidewall,
im researching what will fit and NOT look lame right now.

FYI, our fitment team recommends the following sizes for non lowered vehicles:

Tire Size / Overall Diameter
215/35-18 / 23.9"
225/35-18 / 24.2"

The 225/40-18 come in at 25.1 inches in diameter, so they are a little taller than recommend and more than likely, will cause some rubbing issues!
