^^^ x2. I have a dual exhaust and like he said you just gotta use any aftermarket header or stock, if you're doing cat back, and then have it split by the rear axel.

the extra muffler would serve no function. it would be like buying a shirt with 4 sleeves. you'd be better off just mounting the second muffler without actually attaching it to the exhaust pipe if its just for looks.

Not true -- second muffler helps keep it quiet and reduce rasp

if your looking to keep it quiet and reduct the rasp then why would you take off the stock muffler? and dont tell me 2 mufflers are going to increase performance over the stock muffler. because adding the extra weight and all but eliminating the back pressure is just gunna make it perform worse than stock.

you guys at this point are trying to justify a visual mod. any performance minded person will just laugh in your face.

Honestly, I'm sure most of the reason is pure cosmetic. Either like ih8civx said, to fit an after market body kit, or whatever.

Not my style, but to each their own.

i think the OP is looking for a true dual exhaust, ie. 2 header runners go to one collector, 2 runners to another collector. each collector pipes to its own cat, mid pipe and axleback.

kindof like what you would see on a true dual on a V engine.

thing is, its incredibly inefficient and pretty much a waste of time and money on a I4. just excess piping that serves no purpose.

don't waste any more time on this thought.

if you want to exhaust tips, do what teh previous post said and just split into 2 mufflers at the rear axle.

i personally feel that if you buy a body/lip kit that has dual exhaust moldings in it you SHOULD have intentions of the visual mod of a dual exhaust because, while it does look ok to have single exhaust with a dual exhaust rear bumper/lip it looks even better with dual exhaust.. thats what its for.. you do lose some back pressure but like i said you knew what you were buying and should have had intentions on the dual exhaust.
