how similar/dissimilar is the xD suspension from the 1st gen xB suspension...? can you reuse shocks? springs?

does anyone know?

I'm pretty sure that you can not use any suspension set up from the 1st gen xB/xA because they are different chassis. I forget which chassis the 1st gens use, but if i remember correctly the xD is on the Yaris platform and the 1st gens are on the Echo?

ya, i know its a different platform...but it doesnt mean it cant work....er, not necessarily

i mean, if anyone had some detailed measurements of some stock xb springs i can find out how close it is to a yaris...

i'd much rather spend the ~$150 and get the springs made for the car.

ya, youre right...thats GENERALLY easier yes. but often (and in my case) something local has come up and itd be nice if i could get echo hatchback springs and shocks to work on my yaris because its dirty cheap.

the weight of the 2 cars is VERY similar, but the echo hatch is the same suspension as the xb1 whereas my yaris suspension is the same as an xd (though id IMAGINE the xd would have higher spring rates BUT tein and tanabe use the same part # for the springs for those 2 cars, whereas trd uses different ones...)

i was thinking, for sake of different spring rates (and valving rates on shocks) to get something LOWER made for the xb1 would not be AS low on a yaris (er, potentially)

anyways, this is more of a fact finding mission, and if anyone could get me some accurate-ish measurements of some stock xb springs, i have stock yaris spring measurements to compare them too

I'd buy them, try them, then if they don't work ebay them.

Why not pay the bucks for the springs that were tested specifically for that car instead of springs that were tested on a car similiar to the xD? It makes no sense. Spend the money to get the actual springs for the xD. I have the NF210s from Tanabe on mine and they're great. Granted I didn't pay for them, but nonetheless they're great for the money.
