If any of you have modified the original antenna to the short stubby, have you noticed any change in AM/FM reception?

I've used both the 90mm "Carantenna" off ebay from the seller from Germany and a Honda Element Antenna (won it from my friend in a poker game). The Carantenna was ok. . . but the reception on the Element Antenna is superb. It's identical to the antenna's on S2000's and new Civic Si Hatches.

I have the S2000, but somehow the antenna didn't flush with the base. It's a little fatter and noticable too so I put it on hold and bought the Freedom one, but I think it's alright, some static here and there. The S2000 is the best reception, very clear, I can tell the difference when turn to AM, almost all the stations on AM is improved big time.

I'm sticking with the stock antenna. I like the way it looks overall with the RS1. But thats just me and my taste.

Yeah, and have a quick release on the bumper so when someone is tailgating you, you press a button and it whips the antenna and cracks their windshield.

It does look better. I have a 5.2 inches aluminum antenna and the reception is just the same and looks way better than before. Something that I didn't like about the OEM is that a high speeds the antenna moves side to side really bad and looks ugly, really ugly. Of course I didn't stick my head out of the car, is just that my friend has a matrix and they have the same antenna and I notice it while driving beside him in the highway.

me too...

here is an idea:
why don't make an integrated antenna
you can go to a body shop and let them remove the antenna base and close the hole and rewire antenna to another place they can hide it in the car... i might do it
