yea, i saw the gold xb for the relase series 5.0. the color is meh...


they have a reflective gold linen in the seats, and everything that is silver on the inside of the non- 5.0 series xb's- like dash stuff- the circles around the vents, the silver around the stick and under the radio, is painted gold to match

and.....


they have a new lower body kit on the car that is stock..... IT IS FUGLY. which is why i am happy i got the color i got..

Yeah it's crazy what they've done. Seems like it would've been soooo much easier to use the 5-axis kit. I mean, seems like a ton of people liked it that way and wanted one that way. As for color, I agree, it doesn't look quite right. I think the original had a more orangeish tone to it. Guess they didn't want to copy the original.

I might've considered trading in mine if the RS5 was like the original show xB. But this.....no thanks.

They almost killed the xa replacement.
They killed the tc before it was even a tc, but to at least give it some respect, i wont say that as a strike since its my opinion. But they did kill the tC's tail lights.
They murdered the 5.0RS

I like the silver xB above it much more, I really dont mind the color, its the body kit that im just not feeling.

 

I have actually warmed up to this. From all the pics I've seen all over the net it’s not bad. The only thing that gives me pause is the side skirt; it’s not bad it just seems a bit over done. I'm thinking the reason Scion didn't put the 5-Axis kit is due to wanting to give customers something different. I know I was someone who didn't think the 5-Axis kit was a big Wow (it’s not a bad kit it just seemed flat) a little too subtle. I personally think the 5-Axis should be standard. 5-Axis did a great job on the xD kit but seem to phone it in on the xB in my opinion, but maybe that’s what Scion wanted.

I think the only thing I like about this RS is the sun/moon roof.

i'm gonna hold out on the color. maybe it looks better in person. that kit is just gross.

 

Imat a complete loss for words. I will pass final judgement on the car when it shows here in NYC. Scion does have a tendency to choose paint that doesnt photgraph well, hopefully this is the case.

Looking at a bit more i can see that who ever is in charge of the Scion line is now leaning more towards the every day common man with their styles and choice of colors. The new RS IMO isnt worth what they are asking for it. Although im sure there are some soccer moms out there who would love a gold colored car that closely resembles a minivan.

Scion is definately steering away from the market it originally was designed for. But then again, if you make a hit with the xB1 ... you have to come up with something for the market that didnt like the boxiness, so i guess they hit their mark.

I agree with the more extreme color... I for one like some of the options such as the moonroof, rear spoiler, soundcould be better, and the limited edtion numbering (always cool) but the lowering kit does nothing for me and the color REALLY does need to go in a different direction.

The bright yellow on the '05 Xb was what kept me from purchasing one of the limited sports edtion that year and I really liked the options that year.

I've always thought that a moonroof or sunroof option was missing on the Scion xB ever since I saw the rag top moofroof on one of MTV's pimp my ride episodes (the one with the guys that had the car that was accually two cars liquid nailed together and they just replaced the whole car with a new Scion xB) that Scion was the first Scion I had seen more than just passing on the higway and I fell in love then!!! I Really miss my Scion xB the insurance company really needs to hurry up with the settlement on my totalled Scion xB (see my avitar pic )

 

that's what I said too but after seeing it a the dealership, not for me. they should've stayed with the five axis color

 

Our dealership has one and I don't like it. The gold paint isn't too bad on the outside but I hate the gold trim and the gold that is in the seat cloth. It reminded me of those ricer kids that spray paint their trim.

 

I just saw one at my dealership yesterday and the kit isnt as bad in person, but the color is not so good, the color in the pic above ^^^ is way better looking then in person, its more greenish, yuck. the pic above is more yellow gold, i like the color in that pic^.
