Pure Pricing
I was told that pure pricing does in fact apply to certified pre-owned cars on the Scion lot.
A local Toyota-Scion dealer in my area has an '07 auto with 5k on it listed for two totally different prices...On the scion website it's one price and on the dealer website its $1000 higher.
Anybody know if they are committed to selling the car at the scion website price?
Also, its going for 16999 with all the options that I want and was purchased as a commercial vehicle on 6/07 (from the carfax)...would you buy this one over a new 08?

For a few grand more (maybe 1-2 grand more) you can get a brand new 08 tc that has a bit more extra and safety feature standard. From what I've heard, Pure Pricing is also on Used Scions. Which to me, a new car is in order instead of a used one.
I got my 07 tc for $17,146 out the door, cash in hand, since they were making room for 08 models.

That's exactly what I thought...Here's a piece of the email that one of the sales ppl sent me:
"Thank you for your inquiry and thank you for considering Lawrence Toyota-Scion for purchasing your next vehicle.
The process is the same for Scion Certified pre-owned as it is for New Scion's. The posted price is the selling price plus taxes, DMV and documentation."
He underlined and put in bold that last statement above...any thoughts?

That's what I thought. You could try another dealership, or shop online on that dealership website for web pricing. I've notice that different dealership sell their used Scion cheaper than others but maintain the pure pricing policy. All you need to do is contact their internet sale department of that dealer's website to get it at that price.
I'm getting an auto so before tax on the 08 is 19021, and before tax on the pre-owned is 16999....The only options i'm getting are the mats and the pedastal spoiler...The used one has the pedastal spoiler, not too sure about the mats though...
yeah i think its only on new cars...because factors like condition, and mileage should factor in on a used one...when i was looking for a tc, i found one with 36k miles that had been ran up on a median..the control arm, oil pan, and other panels underneath had been crushed/scraped...while still in working order i didnt want to pay their asking price ($15900) since they hadnt told told me it had a record...they said they would replace everything but i wanted to get done that day..i told them if i could get it out the door for 14500, (reasonable i thought since it had 36k on it and damage)i would replace the parts myself..saving them time and money....they said they could do it...wasted an hour of my time for hte manager eventually to come out and tell me that they could knock off 100$..ha..i was ____ed that they lead me on and i stuck around for an hour..for them to try and stick me...i didnt even give an answer, i just stood up and walked out.....im not too fond of that dealership.....i went and found mine with a spoiler for $17K...a lil pricey but with the satisfaction "new"...i ended up with $18100 out the door...i was a lil dissappointed at the no hassle policy..but after talking to some other tC buyers..i found that it was a lil cheaper than most...
if its a matter of $1k difference...i say go new....and i'm always the looking for the bargain...lol

Pure price is in the Scion Covenant is only for new Scions--
As for CPOs, its kind of a gray area-- the dealerships CAN use the Pure Price business model for them, but its not clearly stated in the Scion covenant that Pure price is to be used on a CPO-- Most of the time, I have found that most dealers do not use Pure Price on CPOs

dude, get the '08, and forego the options (from your dealer), and just get them from trdsparks.com
cuz you also have to wonder how those 5k miles were driven on the '07. that would scare me a bit.

I think dealerships like getting used ones for trade-ins because that gives them the opportunity to ask what they want for the car, usually they are as much as the new ones, its crazy how they hold their value, think its only the new ones that are non-negotiable tho
does trdsparks have the pedastal spoiler??? edit: I found it....How much do you think it would cost to install? I looked and I couldn't find anything...Thanks everybody for your comments...Pure price is a good thing but its not clearly defined on certified pre-owned
