Default Back to the dealer...again...

...Driving today....I look down, and my HVAC is out....I turn the lights off, they turn on. I turn my lights on, they turn off. Talked to Carlos...Says it happens w/ the '07s...so yeah...

hasn't happened to me. the only thing that I've noticed is the area around teh hazard light switch is sensitive. I can press on the frame around it and it'll flash the lights.

have you messed with the dimmer ****??? they go on when you have your light off because it assumes it's daytime and you'd need more backlight during the day.

It happened on my wifes 07. Here's another thread. https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...highlight=hvac It's not the dimmer, it needs a replacement cluster.

I told you it happened to Cesar, Stephanie, Nicole, Ashley, and my cuz .... just take it to the dealer and they'll fix it... they all have 07s

Happened to mine. My brother-in-law is a service advisor, says he has seen it on a couple of 07's. Apparently there is a defect in one of the connectors in the HVAC control, after a while it breaks loose and the light will go out completely. fix it while it is under warranty because otherwise, it's a $600 part.

does the whole waterfall need to be replaced? or just the little electrical box in the back? because i have the c/f dash kit on it.

Just the little box in the back. The HVAC control unit just screws into the back of the waterfall console.
