Default My Latest Project...

I added a few things to the tC. These were my weekend project.

Other than paint seeping through on the console, I think everything turned out great!

left side of console looks clean, right side not so much. Nice effort though.

Engine cover looks clean! Did you know you can get a decal for the lettering...

Randode.com

That's where I got mine from.

Makes a good looking cover even better!

Have you try to hand paint the letter.

I had no issues with the paint bubbling at all. I'm surprised that it didn't in fact. I'll let you know how it goes after being on for a while.

I put 3 light coats of the paint...some of the paint leaked through the tape. I also had the problem of the paint coming off in some places when I tool the tape off. I figure if I can clean up the messy parts and touch up the missing parts, it'll look great. I would say it's pretty good for doing that work for the first time.

What are you going to redo yours as? Different color?

My husband and I installed the sub together, as he's much better at the wiring stuff than I am. It took about two hours or so with taking apart the car, installing, getting the wiring all set and all that. It's got great sound for what I want....I wanted just enough kick to up the stock system. The Bazooka sub is good for that, and I was able to find it on Ebay for around $200 or so.

I didn't sand anything. I rubbed everything down really well with rubbing alcohol. I then washed the sections to be painted in Ivory dish soap, dried them and then let them air dry. Next I applied a paint primer, and once that dried I applied 3 LIGHT coats of the paint.

I used the spray paint specially made for plastics. The primer helped it adhese very well.

Just be sure to get high-temp paint/enamel. I used Dupli-Color Engine Enamel in the silver can.
