Im picking up a set of springs,for my 05 Xa, once the springs are in do I need to have my front end re-alignment redone? Also ,I was reading up in the tech dept about putting them in ,(great section by the way,)I noticed no spring compressor being used.Any pointers would help ,Im nervous about the fronts springs.I figure I will put on the strut brace at the same time.

well........... you should use a spring compressor.
ive never tried it without one , but ive been told the springs are easy to do without it.

the springs should aready be settled because they are used so you shouldn't have to wait, so go get the alignment a few days after you do the springs.
with TRD springs it not nessasary to do a alignment, but DF210 are low enough to need it.
im on tein s-tech with monros from the echo so im about 2.2" lower then stock, i think thats the same as the DF210.
my tow was only out by a little.

attach the strut brace & get everything tight befor setting it back on the ground.

the hardest part (and its easy) is making sure you have the top plate and rubber lined up correct. just pay attention to marks and how it comes apart.
take both out befor taking them apart so have a reference if you need one.

xA on DF210s :D The springs are so soft, no compressor is needed. You will need alignment after you install the new springs. Yeah installing the front brace at the same time is a great time saver.

dude, just be safe and use a dam spring compressor, they are typically free to rent from a local auto parts store once you return them. also, it is pretty smart to get your alignment done afterwords, since you are taking your suspension apart and reinstalling it.

i don't know if i would like to ride on springs taht are so soft you don't need a compressor to install them...sounds kinda weak.

Im definatley using a spring compresor,I saw a thread about that ,Advanced Auto rents them then gives you back your rental fee when you return it ,so why wouldnt I ?And I will get it re aligned after.,Again thanks for everyones input,I appreciate it. Im just reading through some old threads on Tanabe DF210s and noticed someone mention that springs for an Xb wont fit an Xa ?I here different stories..some people Ive heard say suspensions are the same ,I ve heard exhaust /axel backs wont inter-changeUPDATE;I called Tanabe and they for some reason did make seperate springs that they dont recomend swapping between Xa and Xb there are different part numbers,:nails:

You will only need the compressor to take the stock set up apart. It should go back together without them but if it doesn't they will be nice to have.
Also, Before you tighten the upper 3 nuts on both sides lower it completely to the ground before tightening them. This allows them to settle back where they belong. I've done this everytime I've changed my springs with zero problems. Good luck and be safe #1.

Ive switched springs going with Eibach Sportline,but I was reading about bumpstops,some people talk about cutting them ,some say they come with the springs the artical I read here http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=20769 didnt mention either cutting or replacing..any further info?

ive only got 1 set of springs so far (tein s-tech) but i don't think any springs come with bumpstops

My Hotchkis springs came with polyurethane bumpstops but most Manufacturers just tell you to cut whatever the amount of drop is off the stock ones.

I agree that the spring compressor is a safety thing, but you don't need one if you have a friend to help... or are just too lazy to go get one like me. I just installed Progress springs on my xB last weekend and the install was pretty simple. My brother held the front assembly on the garage floor (away from his body) while I unscrewed "the big nut". The spring popped off and it wasn't nearly as exciting as we were hoping.
