Let's say you have to replace your 1st and only generation xB. What similar vehicle would it be?

if i had to get rid of the xb , i would either go for a Subaru wrx or a Toyota tundra

 

The B2 is a dandy little car, but I don't think I wouldn't want to be associated with the crowds of people who wanted value, but refused to be seen in the original.

I'm looking at the Mazda 5 - I've done no research, but it's about the same size (parked next to one) and, unlike 95% of vehicles on the road (including 2 of the 3 in the current scion lineup), ACTUALLY DISTINCTIVE.



Mind you, I'm only even entertaining the idea in case some idiot soccer mom broadsides me in a Yukon......but it helps to have a contingency plan. <3

I voted other cause If the replacement can't be another low mile used xB it would prolly be a Nissan Cube. Hands down!

 

If I wasnt able to find a used xB I wanted..

I would go for the Either the Ford flex coming out in a few months if i could wait that long i would go with the volvo C30

 

if i had to replace my xb, i would replace it either with a mountain bike, or the city bus... since i am used to getting around so slowly (thanks 1nzfe). honestly i coun't think of one other vehicle i would want.. maybe the land rover sport... but i would probobly take the mt bike because of fuel ecomomy and emmissions..

I know! It's weird, all of a sudden Toyota design must want something more aggressive. It works.

 

Tough call, I bought the original xB because it had a wheelchair ramp, so my potions are pretty much limited to the xB2 (since the classic is no longer made) or an Element. I'd have to go with the element since the headroom with a wheelchair in the xB1 was tight for the rear passenger and the 2gen would be even worse. For those who need a wheelchair lift and don't want an evil minivan, I suggest you check these out though. With the Element you can even put the seat back in when you don't need to transport a chair, the xB back seat is always out.

either that or a WRX...I almost T-boned by a minivan today coming to work...SCARED THE PEE OUT OF ME!!! but yeah i kind of like the yaris

Hell yea! The Yaris S hatch is mighty nice... the Kaminari kit for it is sweet too.

 

I think the OP intentions were asking what xB-like vehicle people would replace their 1gen with, like the Element, Cube, xB2, etc. Without the cargo constraint, I'd go with a much quicker M1, Mazdaspeed3, or EVO in a heartbeat, but as is stands now I need space and a ramp. BTW, in the boxy vein I saw this at the DC Auto Show from VW, it's called the Space Up!, part of their micro-car Up! line:

That Yaris is nice, but I may have to go for a smart car convertible. i think I look good in it. Really I like it.
