Move driver's seat back 4" on '06 xB?
Is there a way to move my driver's seat back 3-4" on my '06 xB? It's perfect as is for driving but lots of times, when eating, waiting for someone, etc., I want to move the seat farther back and can't. I keep my back seat down at all times so I'm not concerned about rear leg room.
Suggestions?
Thanks,
Kerry

I am 6'3" 285lbs and have plenty of room? Are you guys going for that go-cart feel!
You could make a simple bracket from welded steel that bolts up to the current holes and add new mounting locations 4" further back for the seat to bolt into. The only issue is that your seat will always be 4" further back and you are prob going to see the bracket and the "new" gap in the front even with the seat all the way forward.
The only other option would be a complicated system that deals with dual sliders or finding longer sliders and mounting them on to the original rails.
That is my suggestions.

Im currently working on a longer bracket with my local welding man lol.. im tryin to get it to move back an extra 6" cause i am 6'8" and am gettin bigger every month (It seems like) haha..BUT hopefully the new truck will fix the leg room problem ;)
Thanks all,
It's too bad Toyota discontinued our xB 1st gen style; a few more years of the same style and interchangeable parts and it could have become like Volkswagen's bugs in the 60's (I had three of them). Here in Hawaii it will be difficult to get parts for xBs from the salvage yard in a few years because so many will be looking—front and rear bumpers will all be gone. Many people here buy Toyotas in large part because there are so many 10+-yr-old parts available in the yards (it's a Cuba-like island mentality). My pattern has been to keep a car for ten years. I plan to do so with my xB.
I'm betting that a couple more years of our 1st gen model (say through 2009) and some aftermarket company would have started manufacturing rails for extended seat movement.

2006 xB (7000 miles, 32 MPG, and I love it)
FWIW: Removing the spare tire and jack, changing to Mobile 1 Synthetic, increasing the spark plug gaps to .044, keeping tires at 34 lbs, and adding cruise control, increased my mileage from 29 to 32 MPG. Over a period of 10 years that's quit a bit. I count on my ins co's road service for flats
