ok so i had to go pick up some extra stuff for superbowl party. well i had to go pick up some chips and soda as one of my sisters friends brought some of her family with her. so anyway. i leave walmart and go home. i head down state ave. so i stop at a red light.

now this red honda civic pulls up next to me with the token high school age or so white kid. so i look over at the car and it has ame sticker and a greddy sticker on it mid sized grocery spoiler on it. well as i am looking at the honda. the driver looks over and see me checking out his car. he then taps the throttle a few times to rev the motor. i laugh and then look away when so he taps a few times more when i wasn't looking.

then all of a sudden i hear his rev go up high and hold for 4 seconds. at this point i can hear his big gulp can muffler over his stereo. so me being a smart (rear end). i rev my motor a few taps and hold at 2g's but got a bad feeling when i did that like when you sence a cop. so i move to 3500 rpms. the kid holds his rev and as the light turns green he punches it and i let my idle normal out and move forward slowly. well wouldn't you know two cops cars were sitting in the drive way not to far from the light. speed limit is 35 in town and 25 at times..lol guess who got pulled over :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

my car is stock i wasn't about to race him even remotely. yes i am an A hole at times and i am betting he hit 50 not far off the line and was looking at a nice ticket.

HAHAHA , I have done that a few times Mike, I love watching them take off while I just drive normally.

I used to do that in my Tempest when they revved on me..........usually the body twisting from the rev got me a salute and they left me alone..........plus once I revved up to 7500 from 550 idle every cop in a 2mile radius had homed in.........nothing like a set of Thrush glasspacks and dual 2.5 exhaust..........LOL

I got my butt handed to me by a guy in a supercharged 5.0,and yes a damn Honda as well..........kid had a well built car.....I will give him that......

Man I am lucky to have not killed someone driving when I was young........I was such an Idiot.......

see i used to do street racing when i was in high school. we had a really nice quarter mile stretch of road with a look out point above it to watch the races and a nice shut down section. with had a mile marker taped with white tape and two lights were exactly 1/4 mile from the mile marker to the first light pole. yes we measured it.

when i was racing we had two major accidents. one was a blown tire at 120 mile an hour. not a pretty site. but the guy was fine came out of it with a broken wrist. no ticket as we had a friend rush the guy to the emergency room and another friend of mine had a tow company and took the car away from the site.

the other wreck was pretty bad but that driver also survived. drunk driver going up the wrong way on the road and no lights on. we had all the muscle cars leave and the ones with normal looking cars stayed. we had to call the cops out on this one as well as emergency crews. the guy who was winning the race got hit head on but had a 5 point racing harness in his car. the other guy was able to break fast enough to avoid the main part of the wreck. but got slammed into after the the guy who was drunk spun up the bank a bit and rolled back down it. all 3 cars totaled the drunk drive got 15 year in jail for being over 3 times the legal limit. the other two guys one had a bunch of cuts the other guy lost his leg and 3 of his fingers.

that race scared me into not racing on the street. it made get a clue quick. rather pay the 35 dollar race fees back then. track was much safer.

i also got black flagged off the drag strip once. we spent the whole day before getting my friends 66 chevelle done to test out on the track. we trailered it down with only the headers on it and his brothers racing slicks and front tires. he didn't want to be the first to run it so he asked me. lined up got the green light and at the end of the track at the ticket booth the lady told me. your done for the day. i asked why she handed me the time slip with 9.56 on it track rule is anything over 10 seconds has to have a rollcage. we didn't have one.

Yes totally let them go! I had a 350z last summer kept trying to play games w/ me thought I was racing him or something. I drive fast (at a constant speed mind you and usually stay in the fast lane only to pass), and he would speed by me, get caught up in traffic only to speed by me again. By the 4th-5th time I started laughing when I went back by and he got really upset (could have been my laughing dunno :P ). The important thing was I did not drive dangerously (other than speeding), kept a constant speed and did not go after him or antagonize him (until the 4th or 5th time it happened just to make him feel dumb :P ).

ah those were the days.... I remember that all when I had my nissan.. I don't get that much anymore, which is nice. It seems to always be the crotch rockets that always want to race me for what ever reasons I don't know...

The xb2 should be able to take any civic with exhaust. The kid should not have even tried.

I like accelerating as fast as I can to the speed limit.

my mom and I were driving down 82nd in portland, in her 07 vette and had a civic very similiar to the one you described pull up along side us and motion for a race. My mom laughed at him and revved her exhaust only once, he backed off after that.. gotta love kids :rofl:

One time I forgot about..........mainly because it is embarrasing as hell..........me in the 70 Tempest sittign at the light and up pulls a Pantera...........why did I even think I had a chance...........why.............light turned green and we were dead even for about 15 feet..........then he must of actually pushed the gas because it was like I went into reverse he pulled away so fast................it was beautiful.............he is still around Tacoma.......bright Yellow Pantera..........full on race car..........thing is amazing........

yeah never mess with a pantera. those cars if they are taken care of. they pretty much scream. if they modified it. yeah don't even bother.

best car i ever raced head on. was a 1970 SS chevelle vs my 88 5.0 mustang i had ( ex california patrol car). my friends dad worked on the motor for me and did a lot of the tweaking to the motor and made 3 inch exhaust for me. 4 races total between me and that chevelle. lost all 3 of them by less then a 2 feet and the 4th race was cause it sounded like a broke something a shut down. was my t bar for taking off lug nuts, flying around in the trunk. but god that chevelle was amazing. it was built by a girl. she grew up with her 3 older brothers and her dad all raced. she could take apart her motor in her sleep i bet. yes i was heart broken when she told me she had a boyfriend...lol

ran into said honda guy today.. lol i guess he was upset with me for some reason. i got the finger from him and some choice words...lol

Should have told him to get a radar detector.
