Default How can i make my exhaust louder??

well when i was shopping for an exhaust i was looking for something quiet that would not attract the cops, so i bought the tanabe concept g exhaust, the thing is you can barely hear this thing, i mean i wanted something quiet but this thing is almost like stock, so how do i make this thing a little louder, the first thing to comes to mind is headers but i hate rasp, so what do you guys reccomend? thanks

ps. i posted this in this section bc nobody seems to check the engine/drivetrain section.

instead of buying a new midpipe just take it to a local exhaust place and they can take the secondary cat off for you, and it will cost way less than a new midpipe. Whos gonna look under there anyways? Might as well save the money. Here is a pic of mine.

I did it for power. I couldnt bring myself to spend a crazy amount of money on a full exhaust when you could build a custom one for a fraction of the price and get the same results. So the answer would have to be yes you will be able to feel a difference, and for the price of removing it, why not? Your local shop should not charge much to do this at all, especially if they are keeping the cat to recycle, dont let them fool you, they get quite a bit $$ for those. My local shop charged me $70 to remove the cat and build me a custom axl back. In my opinion the exhaust Im running sounds awsome, I have no rasp and its not too quiet and not too loud, it has a perfect deep sound to it.

i did the same thing with my TRD exhaust and it sounds like a beast. totally different tone than a regular TRD exhaust...louder and much deeper.

I wouldnt do that, you at least need a resonator or it will sound like crap and raspy.
I left my stock resonator on with my setup.

The answer is no, you will not get a CEL when taking of the secondary cat.

Dave, you're not serious are you?

I wouldn't do that "take out the cat with a larger piping" It's still going to be a bottle neck effect. If you are planning on doing your whole exhaust in the long term, get a REAL midpipe, ask a exhaust shop to custom fab it for you. Don't get that fake sht
