I don't know... when I think JDM, I think of what stock cars look like there, with some mild mods maybe. This I just consider hideous, tacky ___ rice, but that's just MHO. I'm sure many disagree...

many disagree nest - but I'll take your side. All that stuff is just as bad as some of the things they do here. Ugly is still ugly - even if some japanese kid thought of it (has anyone actually WATCHED their cartoons?? ... good god.)

The whole point of getting JDM parts was to equip your vehicle with JDM O-E-M(!!!) parts or parts that could pass for OEM. I got a ton of JDM crap - and most would never know it wasn't US stock, every bit looks factory ('CUASE IT IS!) -- and that's the whole point.

I can buy ugly from the speed shop here.

Maybe the whole point of JDM to you is getting factory JDM stuff, but not me. I will agree that the blue bB looks...ummm...not cool, but that's just my opinion. To me JDM is anything that was made in or for the Japanese market...Ganador, Cool's, Work, B.I.M. creative studio, Rocket Bunny, Endless, Kei Office, Bride, Bee*R, Do-Luck, Advan, Trust, Cusco, Uras, Weld....I could go on all night. To me part of having JDM goodies is being able to say "HA! I've got something and you don't :P ". If you like it, fine. If you don't like it, fine.
There is a prestige that comes with genuine JDM parts, and only people who are into the JDM thing can appreciate it.

I stand SLIGHTLY corrected. What I was trying to say was JDM doesn't HAVE TO BE OEM. But should be able to pass for it at least. As you say, there are companies that would pass that test. GReddy... Trust... Advan etc etc They make qaulity parts and meet or EXCEED OEM standards - those are great, if they make a good part not available HERE - snatch it up if you get a chance. I used to have TOM'S parts on my new MR2t - and that was almost a decade ago - when you had to kill someone to get hold of TOM'S. Aftermarket JDM is good, as long as it's not tacky-___ garbage (is what I was attempting to get at earlier). You can buy tacky crap domestic side for 1/2 as much if you must.
