Does anyone know how to remove the metal plate that says "DC sports CS-2" from the bar. I have tried to push the pin things through from the other side with no luck. Im not a big fan of brand names all over my engine bay, so I'm about to say to hell with it and paint the damn thing. I need to decide soon before I install it... any suggestions?

it is usually welded onto the bar. get a good hammer and a chisel.

Nope its held on by two metal "studs" or peg type things pressed through two small holes in the bar. The only way I can see to do it would be to drill out the pegs completely. Besides, I have a feeling that a hammer and chisel would severly ruin the finish and possibly compromise the metal's integrity. I think I am just going to paint over it and maybe put a custome graphic on the plate 8)

just because you're not a fan of brand-name items doesn't mean you have to be against it. if you are against brand-name items, why did you buy one? buying it is supporting it.
i know im all sounding like i work for DC sports or sumthing, but i don't. i just don't get the logic.

It's not liike that at all- I love brand name items- hell, look at the few mods I do have- all brand names. It's just a specific under-hood look that I am going for, and the badge seems to not fit with it. Overall, I really liked the design of the bar, so I bought it. In these Scions the strut bar is more a cosmetic thing anyway, so I want to customize it.

BTW, I see that you have the DC bar installed on your xA! Did you notice any difference in the handling during "spirited driving"?

The badge is held on by two rivets. I bought my strut bar used, and the badge was all worn out. I was able to acquire a new badge (with rivets)... To take out the rivets, just get a drill and drill bit that'll be able to bore the rivets out... I haven't drilled out the rivets yet, but that's what I used to do with computer cases...
also...it might compromise the stiffness of the strut bar a little
I've had my strut bar out for a week or so (dc header install hell)...I'll write up a new thread about the difference in feel later tonight...

Update: I was able to successfully De-badged the DC bar with a tungsten carbide Dremel drill bit (#9903). It turned out to be the perfect size for drilling out the rivets and leaving the holes intact at the same size. 8)
