Do 1Gen xBs crash poorly?
My wife was rear-ended in my 06 xB a couple days ago. Big ___ POS Ford Bronco. She was sitting at a stop sign waiting for traffic to open up, and the lady behind her 'though she saw her start to go' and crashed into her (not very fast either) and the damn hatch caved in pretty good, bumper scratched up (thats normal). The damn hatch though seems like it caved in pretty bad for the speed of the crash. Do our cars have poor rear-end crashing?

it was good for most ratings. but anyway you don't have passengers in the back of the car, so that area is probably designed to crumple and absorb energy that won't be transmisted to the rear occupant. also, side impact air bags are a wise investment.

I went to that web site, but couldn't find much info. on the xA, accept for this:

I'd suspect it would be very similar safety as the Yaris.
Does anyone here have any additional info. on the xA ?

Doea anyone rate by the ammount of force a vehicle can sustain before needing major repair / are easy or cheap to repair. I know the philosophy has shifted from making a tank to making something designed to systemattically break to absorb impact to the passenger, but it seems like they almost design new cars to be totalled easier than they should be. makes me wonder if they're inherently designed to force you to buy a new car every time you wreck.
