Few more questions
Im upgrading my amp to a kicker 1500.1 for the subs, and getting a 200.2 for my kicker 8s im putting in the door.
right now i have 4ga wire ran with a 150amp fuse. based on calcuations i have made, my new draw on power will be about 230. So i am putting a 0 ga kit in with dual amp support. with the leftever power cable, im going to do the big three up under the hood.
after doing the big three, do you think i would need a capacitor? I am thinking about trying just the big three and going from there, but just wanted to ask the question anyways.
next question would be how do you wire a capacitor with 2 amps? do you put it before the power distro box or can i just add it inline to the bigger amp since that will be what draws the power.

i've read all the back and forth about caps, and all i know is when i installed my amp for my mids and highs which puts out 125x4 rms, i was getting some dimming. i installed a cap, and it completely stopped.

Using a capacitor is less effective than upgrading your alternator. You will see a much more appreciative difference by switching to an alternator that has a higher amperage output. I think the factory alterantors in these cars are very small.....something like 90 amps.

speaking about alternators...i got my windows tinted today, and i was talking to the owner about car audio. i asked him how to wire a cap and he too said to forget it. said the best thing would buy a car audio alternator or buy a second battery.
then he quoted me the alternator and i almost laughed at him. wanted 560 bucks for one that juiced 180amps...i was like well im going to install frist, then go from there.

I have one that's built for a tC sitting in my garage I got for $380... The pulley is too large and doesn't have a clutch. That's right, the stock alternator has a clutch or something in it. That's why it has the little snout on the front with a seal. I've already taken everything apart. Lol!
I received a smaller pulley from the place I purchased my alternator from, but it appears that it is still too large. I don't want to go through pulling out the stock alt and replacing it with one that may not work again. It's too big of a pain...
But I WILL have an upgraded alternator. a 3000 watt RMS amp needs more juice...
Also, capacitors are okay. I placed a Kinetik HC1800 under my passenger seat. All wire Kicker Hyperflex 1/0. Find kits on ebay for about 80 shipped.
