Default Are aftermarket seats lower than stock??

I love the seats in my xA RS but I with they were a bit lower. I'm 6'2" and I'm very close to the roof when driving. The roof also blocks my view a bit.

I was wondering if anyone had aftermarket seats and if they are lower or not. Any info woul;d be appreciated!

The RS has the sunroof which eats up some space. I didn't sit in a regular xA so I don't know how much different the seats are other than the fabric.

Any info on the custom backet would be good!!

I've sat in both a regular xA and a RS1. The moonroof does lower the headliner a good 1 1/2". That's fairly significant.

F-it just open the sunroof and stick your head out. Just make sure you keep your mouth closed incase of bugs

Some aftermarket seats will raise you also depending on the base and slider you get. Not too mention if ifs a fixed bucket, or reclining.

I'm trying to use Wedge Engineering brackets for my new seats. They seem to raise them a little. Be warned, they fit like ___, I mean real bad. I'm out in my garage trying to sand down the edges of a hole trying to make it fit, and I haven't even tried the driver's seat bracket yet.

The ones from Wedge Engineer, if I'm not mistaken, allow you to tilt front to back, and lift/drop the over all height. It's done with bolts. There are 3 height adjustments on all four corners.

I installed 2 Sparco Torino seats in my 300Z about 3yrs. ago. When I bought them, I bought the seat brackets from the vendor too, but I think it's almost safe to assume they got them from Wedge Engineering.

Even more so after Rolex87 mentioned how much of a pain in the ___ they were to install. Crap, I had all kinds of alignment problems too. Had to shave some stuff down or clip some stuff off too.

Just an FWI, I wanted to install one of my Z's Sparco Torino seats in my xA RS 1.0 last week, before the track day I attended. I called up Wedge Engineering Monday or Tuesday last week and tried to get an adapter bracket shipped next day (I can use the same slider, just needed an adapter). They said they DON'T HAVE adapters for an xA. ONLY for the xB. He wasn't sure, but he thought the xB might have one extra tab, or something or other, and might fit. He offered to ship it to me, but I turned it down because I didn't want to deal with the hassle, and a bigger potential mess than what I had to deal with for the Z, and have to make it work in a very short period of time.

They offered to make one fit, if I brought my car to them, but they are in S. Cal, I think by Long Beach.

I'm still up for doing it though, and may try again later. Maybe one of you guys can buy the guinee pigs? ; )

i have 2 momo START seats, and when we designed the brackets, we dropped about 2 inches in seat height.. just enough to be comfortable, without being excessively low.. my elbow now sits barely above my shoulder when i rest it on the windowsill (instead of being the other way around)

but you're looking at $$$$$ to get this done..

I just tried calling right now, but missed them because their closed. Damb, it's only 4:15pm here in California.

I'll try again tomorrow. If I can't get xA brackets, I may just buy xB brackets and rework them myself.

I'm going to do what ever I have to do to get my Sparco Torino in my xA by the time I hit the track for my next 2 day track day at the end of January! At least now I have time to do any rework that needs to be done

mine are custom aluminum built by www.billetdesign.com and they freakin ROCK! strong as hell, no drilling into the car, stock bolt holes, and the option to either use 4pt harness or stock seatbelt/harness

FYI to you all, when you swap seats, you'll want to pull all sensors etc off the bottom of your stock seats, and keep them plugged into the wire harness. pull the seatbelt switch out gently, and use tape to hold the switch in the closed position. otherwise, you'll have the airbag light flashing, or the seatbelt light flashing.. annoying as hell!

my next project is to move all that wiring elsewhere so it's not cluttering under my seats.

Just ordered the xB brackets to install my Sparco Torinos in my xA. Got brackets for drivers and passengers side. Should get them in a week or two. Won't be in town when they arrive due to visiting family for the holidays, but will try and install the seats after xmas.

Rolex87, where you trying to install the xB brackets for an xB, or an xA, when you said that it made the seats sit higher and you had to rework on of the holes?
