no auto start, no window roll down module included?
i have the viper 791 and have been very happy with it, but the shop that did the install threw in 2 window roll down modules and the total 4 parts and labor was almost 400
i know the window modules are probobly worth about 50 or 60 ea... look around, you can find a better deal then best buy. if you do decide to go with that alarm, it's decent, but if you have a lot of high end stereo stuff, go with something that has 2 way pager feature.. you will want to know when you alarm goes off when you park it at the mall, when you are out of earshot of the alarm..

the 3002 is a 2-way with a few aux outputs that you could use for window modules etc. 2 way pager feature is only great if you're within range.. unless you buy the GPS add-on that will text/call when your alarm goes off.. or you can start your car from a text/call with a remote start alarm. down side is it works on a points type system, and they aren't exactly cheap

the 791 has at the most a quarter mile range, the new model replacing it at best buy is the 5900 i think, with a "half mile range" that equates to an actual quarter mile. i had the 791 in my tC and thought the range wasn't very impressive....
as far as pricing goes for IH8ONYU, he got a pretty good deal considering best buy probably would have charged half an hour misc. labor per window modules and we don't carry/can't even order them.
xb1 doesn't used chipped keys so remote starts are pretty basic, but the xb2 has chipped keys so modules are required for remote start to work, which will add a good 60 bucks if not more in parts/labor to the install at best buy

Thanks guy i figured best buy would charge extra, but didnt know it would be that bad. I live in socal so lucky for me there is tons of alarm shops in the city of industry and la puente. When i looked at this alarm i didnt even think about the feature 2way pager feature which is something i am going to need. Remote start really isnt that big of a issue for me, but i do want something with a lot of features and security.
L337Biker- i will check out the viper site, spending more that $300 for a alarm to me is actually a better investment than rims or any upgrade. I want to know that my car is protected when i go to school or anywhere for that matter. I repo cars for a job while i am attending UTI. So i personally can break into any car no matter what it is with 2 tools in less than 1 minute. It is scary how easy it is to do, this is why i want to buy a alarm. No thief wants attention while there trying to jack something. Thanks for the input guys, keep it coming. The more comments and input on personal experiences the better. Thanks again, JJ.

What do you think about the Ravelco anti-theft device? It claims that no one has ever stolen a car with one installed and the news clips shown had a cop recommend it. But what I don't like is the lack of any other features.
