(awaits the moment this thread is locked)

The springs and shocks are worth it if you can afford. It's as simple as that. What else can you say about lower springs? They lower the car!

And of course it's not going to make your ride "smoother" if you mean the feel inside the cabin. You are compressing the struts, making it less leway in bounce when you hit a bump. More road vibration but less floatiness, for lack of better technical term.

Agreed, but TRD listed the springs as 1.25". So far, it went to a 3 finger gap from 4 fingers, and I think by the time it settles it will only be 2 fingers. It was 2 fingers for the demo car at the dealership.

Whole set up cost $500. I think it's money well spent.

I lowered my xA with TRD's on Wednesday and I love them so far! The ride is stiffer for sure and I can corner a lot quicker with the springs. The TRD springs are a good choice if your not looking to have your Scion slammed to the ground, but still want to have a more aggressive look and improved handling. I have pictures posted, check them out: http://www.pbase.com/itzjere/lowered&page=all Hope that helps.

Install it yourself and save $400 bucks! Really easy to do (there's a tutorial in the tech area) and you'll feel good that you saved money and did it yourself!

EDIT: Here's the link to the tutorial: http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=20769

im still unsure whether or not to get them. i was up in berkeley and i had to get my tire looked at and the guy told me he had the springs and that they made his ride much smoother. maybe they were different ones. im not sure.

ive also seen some springs that you can adjust. up or down for you people who like them dropped.

I've had my TRD springs in for about 2 months now. I have a tight two-finger gap in the rear and a two-finger small-spread in the front. The springs definately give the tC a more aggressive stance.

Oh and btw, I like 'em.

everyone seems to like them but how about the ride???its not bouncy like some of those Hondas i see out there is it??

The springs make the ride stiffer. You do feel more of the ground and bumps are a little bit more amplified, but its barable.

do you think that in several years the TRD springs will wear out the oem shocks and will require a purchase of the TRD shocks?

or do you think that the oem shocks will be fine for a long time since it's only a 1.25" drop?

also, i've heard that the springs without the TRD shocks make squeaking sound while driving...anyone get that?

it'll be about 30k or so. before the shocks/struts wear out

RayDiz, I am in milpitas and I have lowered tCs for quite a while now and I can tell you that all the tC owners that have them installed love them. I got a guy who drives from tracy to fremont for work and he loves the ride, even on our messed up roads. Install price at the Scion Central is 150.00 and it takes just two hours for the install. Here's a pic, and PM me if you want some more info. :)

I had TRD springs/shocks/struts on both of my 1976 Celica GT liftbacks. They were awesome. Better than the Turn Six springs, KYB shocks, and Suspension Technique springs I had before that. Come to think of it, the TRD Rally struts and shocks were made by KYB at the time.

I've been thinking about getting the TRD set for my tC, but I was wondering if $480 + shipping was a decent price. I can install them myself, but I was wondering what you guys paid.

So would a rear sway bar be worth the extra $85?

Says who? With the small drop that the TRD springs give you?

hotbox05

most shocks in general only last about that long.people just dont notice cuz people dont know alot about suspensions and they dont really notice anything until a strut is completely blown or the like

so you mean my dad had his camry for over 130,000 miles with shocks worn out around 100,000 miles ago?
