Long time ago when I was first starting to drive, the same thing happened to me. Totally messed up the underside of my car. But.....its better to do something like that that to almost get hit by a FLYING tire. A couple of months ago, I was driving down the highway at about 80 when a passenger tire came flying past me- missing my car by inches. Now THAT will wake you up for sure!!

I ran over a fricken ladder in my old car. Driving down the highway, and all of a sudden, the car in front of me flies out of my lane. His car moves and I see a big ___ ladder sitting across my lane. I'm movin' at around 80 mph, no where to go and no time to brake. Surprisingly, the car still drove afterward. No idea if it did any damage, but the car still worked. It was my old 91 Plymouth Laser that I didn't really care about lol.

Some Honda's exhaust fell from his car doing about 70 on the highway and it flew right over my car... I speeded up to see who's the ricer and at least flip him off... and it ended up being a dude from my highschool. Apperantly he just had it installed...HAHA. I won't lie though, I got so freaked out I almost pee'd in my pants when I saw that exhaust fly over the scion. Good thing I had the moonroof closed.

Same thing happened to me while driving on the thruway doin75 but this was like a full tire not a blown out tire. It messed up my exhaust real bad. Also when I was like 17, I was driving my old 91 accord and I was on the thruway at night also doing like 75 and I hit a dead deer. It was laying right in the middle of my lane, and there was a tractor trailer right next to me so I couldn't avoid it. It sent me airborne and when I hit the ground i fishtailed a lot but managed to drive out of it amazingly. I was so close to hitting the tractor trailer next to me It was freaky.

I was behind a gravel truck on the 710 once, then pebbles and rocks started falling out of the back of this truck!

I had so many chips and dents on the front of my car (different car at the time) and one of my PIAA's even shattered.

I was pretty upset at the time, but I never follow gravel trucks anymore...

These things just happen, you can't control it most of the time...

The week I got my car, a truck in front of my dropped a 5 gallon bucket of paint off of the back of his pickup. I had no time to swerve and drove right through it. I still have white paint in my drivers side wheel wells!!!!Luckily I took it to a car wash and it came right off of the paint. I was ____ed.

Something simuliar happened to me years ago in my CRX. It was late at night going down the highway back to my home town on a dark section of road where nothing is around for miles. So I was playing around cranking up the speed to 100+. I then saw a bunch of sterafoam deprie in the road, I slowed down at little to dodge all of the pieces I then returned to the gas and kaboom I giant red Colman cooler slams into my front mount bending it then pieces of it getting stuck to my down pipe. So I quickly get off the road as it was making a loud scrapping sound. I'm trying to pull it off my down pipe since it is melting and smoking. I was affraid it was going to go up in flames. Luckly I got it off and the intercooled didn't have any leaks it just look like the shape of a banana. Went on down the road to find a truck pulling a camper on the side of the road. I first thought they had lost the cooler but found out that the sterafoam pieces I saw before I hot the cooler was from a blue cooler that they hit which ripped there brake lines and wiring for the trailer. They heard the impact and the dragging of it and said it sounded like a plane crash sliding across the road.

Everytime I see something dangerous in the road I will stop and get it out of the road if I can now.

In my old civic I had just washed and waxed it when my friend needed a ride so we hopped on the freeway adn as I was drivingI noticed sparks coming from my fender. First I thought damn Im I going that fast but then I pulled over and relized someone else was also pulled over. I hit a heavy bottle jack that fell off a truck. It tore up my bumper, radiator, and smashed my header.

i was driving to work one morning and i was driving behing a dodge dakota rt, and he was running right besides an 18 wheeler. im guessing that the rt was probably going to a show since there was a lot of nice show cars rolling around. well the 18 wheelers rear tire blew out and it went right to the side of the dakota. it was crazy that tire damaged the front bumper / fender/ wheel and door. i was soo thankful it was not the scion all this happened too.

Yes I have been there as well..........had a breaker bar from a semi for tightening his straps come flying off his truck...........bounced right in front of my car on the freeway and then bounced up and just nicked my top back side of the car...............I was sure it was gonna hit my windshield and kill me............would of been like a horror movie.......

Had this happen to me about a week after owning the car. was just going about 50 down the road following traffic and I guess that one of the cars hit a piece of tire that was in the road and flung it up right into me. it hit my front bumper and flew under my car. It made a terrible noise but luckily it only made a few minor scratches on the bumper.

not a TC, but still similar experience..

when i first got my car, i was driving home after a late shift, when some big metal box fell off the truck in front of me.. i had no time to swerve to miss it, it almost ripped my whole rear bumper off.. thats when i realized that my bumper just has plastic pins holding it on..
