I AM LOOKING TO REPLACE THE STOCK ONES WITH PERFORMANCE HEADERS. CRUZtc8 02-18-2008, 06:40 PM please dont scream! tCtCtC 02-18-2008, 06:41 PM THE TC IS AN INLINE 4, SO IT ONLY HAS 1 HEADER. PLEASE SEARCH, AND OBEY THE SCIONLIFE RULES. TALKING IN ALL CAPS IS FUN but dont do it Killface 02-18-2008, 06:41 PM There's one exhaust manifold on the tC. So you only need one header as a performance replacement. As far as learning about cars goes, you won't become an expert overnight. I suggest lots of internet reading, car magazines (I suggest Sport Compact Car, Siphon, and Project Car Magazine to start.), and hang out with gearhead friends. You will pick it up with time. One last thing, please don't type in all caps, its considered yelling on the internet. Hope that helps! :P trucky941 02-18-2008, 07:00 PM I appologize about the caps. at work and fogot to take the caps off. thanks for the info guys. trucky941 02-18-2008, 07:13 PM I have seen some headers on ebay for around $50. Would those be ok to put on my car? torqueTc 02-18-2008, 07:22 PM try them out and tell us! wlfpck 02-18-2008, 07:23 PM first of all it's header. not hearderS. no s. second. You get what you pay for. 50 bucks for a header is probably not a good idea. Nick06tC 02-18-2008, 07:24 PM NO. And there is only one header. whiteshirt 02-18-2008, 07:28 PM I have seen some headers on ebay for around $50. Would those be ok to put on my car? I wouldn't encourage it. There are a few good brands for headers. The best choices imo would be between Monster Motorworks, DC Sports, Alphawerks, or Megan Racing. They are all comparable as far as performance is concerned (minus MMW since it is a header/s-pipe combo) so it's basically down to how much money you want to spend, or if you want ceramic instead of stainless steel. trucky941 02-18-2008, 07:36 PM Well what would be the difference between the ceramic or stainless steel? whiteshirt 02-18-2008, 07:40 PM Looks mainly. The ceramic coating on the DC Sports header is light silver, whereas stainless would look like chrome, but it usually turns to a dark bronze color unless you powder coat it or something. Aroddalobster 02-18-2008, 07:43 PM ceramic is known to cause less heat trucky941 02-18-2008, 07:44 PM Ok thank you guys for the info. Very helpful. I really don't know anyone around town that knows about cars and I;m happy i can find help here. thanks again guys. nominal_asu 02-18-2008, 10:54 PM Just becareful with the headers as you will get a CEL if you dont do the fix that is talked about on SL all the time, just thought i'd mention it since you said you are new to learning about cars. |
