View Full Version : mid rear spoiler
daneisthegreatest 02-19-2008, 06:43 AM So I have always wondered this but never asked...I cant believe no company has made a mid spoiler for the xB, like the spoilers on the Civic EK hatch's from the 90's that is just below the rear window...maybe someone makes one and I have just not seen it...does anyone know anything about this..
I wonder if EZ would be able to make something like this now that he is getting into the eyelid and FFF scene...i bet quite a few people would like to rock an "EZ RTF" (rear tail finisher)
what do you people think??? am i the only one???
ogerdgonz 02-19-2008, 06:54 AM There is one for the gen 2 the lines of ours does not promote a mid spoiler.........
burstaneurysm 02-19-2008, 03:15 PM I think a midspoiler would look really goofy on the 1st gen.
aalbertson3 02-19-2008, 06:49 PM I think a midspoiler would look really goofy on the 1st gen.
Agree 100%
black_xb 02-19-2008, 07:41 PM I think it would work good... I was wondering that myself . It would only be there for looks but so is anyspoiler or performance part we put on these cars.. but make it 3 piece and work it into the the body lines on the side..... I may be making one soon. If you make 1 before i do, keep me posted.....
Metro273 02-20-2008, 01:52 AM I think a midspoiler would look really goofy on the 1st gen.I agree! The rear is just too straight and flat for that spoiler. Maybe someone can do a photoshop?
Crispyxb 02-20-2008, 02:37 AM I know they make one for the xA
Reactor 02-20-2008, 06:54 AM Couple of pics of the Suzuki Wagon with a mid spolier here: http://www.clubxb.com/forums/f29/10697-spoiler-under-rear-window/
daneisthegreatest 02-20-2008, 09:11 AM kind of like it...it could be set up to follow the body lines on the side and i think it would look cool
fawlkin 02-20-2008, 11:22 AM I think a mid spoiler would look great on the xb. A one piece spoiler just under the window nothing wrapping around the sides. Heck I even formed one up from cardboard to get an idea of what it would look like. But thats about as far as i got in making one. Still think its a good idea and would love to see one made.
Archngl 02-20-2008, 01:42 PM I'd buy one if it was the right shape.
daneisthegreatest 02-20-2008, 03:39 PM if it was similar to that suzuki one i think it would do good
Sciond 02-20-2008, 05:37 PM I would have to say ick

flyingtoaster 02-20-2008, 08:21 PM that is retarded! think they could have made it just a little bit BIGGER!

ogerdgonz 02-20-2008, 10:12 PM UH.....no
burstaneurysm 02-20-2008, 11:32 PM Yea, I mean they're your cars, and you should do what you want, but that's the single ugliest thing I've seen since the Evo5 kit.
Sciond 02-21-2008, 03:44 AM   yeah that and the bolt on roof spoiler Overboosted used.....
HeathenBrewing 02-21-2008, 01:48 PM Do what you like, but that black box looks like it has a table mounted to the trunk.....
But the smaller one looks better (still sh@tty, but not as much). Which leads me to another idea:

The smaller the wing, the "better" it would look IMO, although "better" is relative.
Archngl 02-21-2008, 02:13 PM I wonder if the bmw spoiler would fit? dimensions?

On the hatch/roof, or in the middle of the hatch?
I know there are some threads on here. Guys were using them in place of where the spoiler usually goes, on the roof/hatch. Subtle mod that looked real nice IMO.
I beleve that 1.5" had to be trimed off either end to make it flush with the hatch. Some just let the excess material hang over onto the roof.
Big_Jim 02-21-2008, 06:50 PM im pretty sure those pictures posted were photoshops.
kewlbox 02-21-2008, 07:21 PM That white one looks all right to me.
Cinderblock 02-21-2008, 08:45 PM ya i kinda like the white one, maybe if it was 2-peice, and fell short of reaching the wiper blade, thatd be cool
hotbox05 02-29-2008, 04:08 AM i remember this look from vw gti's and golfs , I always liked the look , and the white photoshop looks nice
Sciond 03-01-2008, 02:08 AM still ick
jsa3mm 03-01-2008, 02:55 AM The poor xB looks like it is prairie doggin'!!!
dmpsk8 03-02-2008, 03:40 PM i would like to see a real one if anyone tries it
