I don't mean to offend anyone. Honestly I don't. I'm just wondering if I'm the only one that feels this way. Every time I crawl into that little thing I get sick to my stomach and have to beat away feelings of self loathing with a stick. The only upside to the car so far is the magnificently low payment. A mere 240USD a month. I just hate everything about the car. I can't even sell it. I've only had it a month and I'm already trying to ditch the thing by any means possible. The only reason I got the car is because I have no credit and they're the only ones that could help me. I really mean no offense to the car makers or other owners. I can honestly say this is the first time in my life that I'd rather sit at home and do nothing if I can avoid driving my car. Am I the only one in this situation? Anyone else feeling my pain here?

You are the only person I have heard talk about their Scion with such "loathing" (self or otherwise). I absolutely love my RS1 and every time I see it I am happy that I own it, and every time I drive it I am convinced it is the best purchase I have ever made.
If you are that unhappy with your Scion, you should trade it for a Civic and be part of the "me too" crowd.

Okay wait....I would seriously like to know why you don't like your car. I currently have my truck up for sale and I'm planning to replace it with an xA as soon as it sells. Are there specific things about your Scion that you don't like, or is it more of a "it's just not what I'd rather have" kinda thing? If there are specific things that you don't like, please list them here.

I don't have any idea what you are talking about. I park my car outside my window, so I can look at it all day and smile... Are there specific items or complaints you have about the car, or just whining in general? If you have specifics, we can try to help you.

I must say, you are definately in the minority.
I can't say that I "Love" my xA RS 1.0, but this is the first car that I have ever had that puts a smile on my face every time I get in it. Sure there are things I would change about it, but it's such a fun car I can put up with it's few short falls.
I am curious as well to what you don't like about it. I also find it very hard to believe that Scion/Toyota is the only company that would work with you. Every auto manufacturer would work with you and you could have easily beat the 240.00 a month you are paying for it had you gone with a Kia, Hyundi or other car on the low end of the scale.

I am very satisfied with my xA. Like xA RS ChickLA said, though, there are plenty of folks who don't like them. I've had people stop me at the grocery store and the post office and tell me how much they like it, and I've had folks tell me how much they hate it, as well. The important part is that I'm happy with it. It just sounds to me like you bought your Scion for the wrong reason.

In your other post you speak of owning a TT, are you trying to compare the two? Cuz they aren't really in the same class you know. What is it you're wanting from the xA?
If it makes you sick and full of self-loathing whenever you get in it, you must LOVE that feeling cuz now you're fretting over it when you're not driving and posting it up here to perpetuate the feeling. Most people are here because the like their cars and are improving and personalizing them.
Anyway, It's just a car, what kind of self validation are you looking to get from it?

My question is you said you have no credit, and wouldn't it be easier to get a domestic vehicle instead? I have heard many with little to no credit had success getting a loan with domestic cars. If you hated the xA so much, why can't you buy a cheap beater and save up until you can afford a better looking car (according to your preference, of course)?

You come to a Scion forum and post something like that, of course the majority would not agree with you! People that are on this site is really into their scion and that is why their here to begin with! I am sure, there are people that are out there that feels the same way just like any other cars! but here they're all scion enthusists!! including myself!! Anyway, I sure would like to know what you don't like about the car? the car is 1.) Saves gas 2.)Well designed interior 3.)Decent quality for the money 4.)Decent power considering the size of the engine 5.)Decently priced
Only complaint I have is maybe the car is a little underpowered but with all the bolt-ons like intake, exhaust, etc.. i'm sure it'll be decently quick!

You obviously have no clue about buying cars or you're just a troll stirring thing up. There are plenty of credit companies that finance you and there are tons of other cars you could have bought.
You self loathing is your punishment for being stupid and buying the wrong car for you.
Oh, and BTW I LOVE my xA RS! I traded in my RX8 for it. That probably makes you sick (I hope). :D

no offense, honest, but how could you buy something you hate? I mean, you should have looked into your purchase a bit more before making a committment. . . again, I'm not trying to offend you, but it really reflects on you as a person and your capability to make decisions, if you spend that kind of money without doing some good research/thinking first. And if is the only car you can afford, the best that you can afford, or both, then you shouldn't gripe. Perhaps you need to look into improving your credit/income as to afford what you want.
This kind of thing goes for all things in life. . . if you are unhappy, it is usually because you have settled for something less than what you originally wanted. Never settle and never stop until you get what you want. Some people are perfectly happy with these cars. . . some aren't. That's why America utilizes a free market system. And apparently, Scion is doing very well and his here to stay. Apparently, most of the consumers out there love Scion; and the sales figures prove it.

I have several high end sports cars that are very fun to drive, as well as a nice sedan, and I find I am always looking forward to driving my Scion XA. They're awesome little cars.
Isn't the idea that you test drive a car before you buy it? If you test drove a Scion you would've known it wasn't the car for you. If you bought one before actually driving one, how can you complain?

Sounds liks true case of buyers remorse-or a desperate cry for attention-either way no one forced you to buy the car-I take it you test drove it? You are definately in the monority with your opinion on this unfortuante situation? Anyway just 10 or so more months and you would have established some credit to purchase another vehicle-just make sure your not late with those payments-you cant go backwards at this point.

Sorry it took me so long to respond. I sold my old computer to help the move so I'm using my friend's whenever I can.
Like I said, I didn't mean to offend anyone. I was just honestly curious.
And no, of course I'm not trying to compare my old TT to the XA. That is complete lunacy. Thats like those hopped up vette guys that constantly bash on mustangs.
And to the guy who apparently knows everything about credit and buying new cars. Toyota West was the 6th dealership I went to trying to get a car in my name. I had three grand down and no co-signer. The Scion first time buyer's program was the only set-up that would help me. I tried all domestic at first. I just wanted a damn truck. Just a simply regular cab plain jane truck. But I couldn't get anyone to give me financing on it.
In retrospect I am really glad I got cruise control. That being the only option I did get. And just so you know, my parents, well just my mom(dad's long since in the ground), have NEVER helped me AT ALL on any of the vehicles I've owned. I've paid every dime. On the TT my mom just put it in her name because at the time I was 17. I paid the lease payments and the insurance. My first car was a 69' Nova drag project, then a 1986 Jaguar XJ6, then a 70' Nova, and then the TT.
I really didn't mean to put down anyone's Scion. I think they're great intro cars. I was just wondering if I was the only one that got one because that's about the only thing they could get.
The reason I didn't just get a beater is because I learned my lesson with the XJ. I'll NEVER own another car made after 75' that doesn't have a warranty.
Right now I am trying to trade it in but to no avail.
Once again, didn't mean to offend anybody.
I think I replied to everything. Miss anything?

No offense taken. . . I'm just curious whether or not you test drove your car. . . I mean if you really hate it, why did you buy it? If it's the best you could get, then it's the best you could get. . . which is more a reflection of you than the car itself. You are definitely entitled to your opinion, and I do know of a few people who don't like the xA. . . but none of the haters actually owns one.

no offense taken, anymore at least, haha. for the person who said he hates spoiled kids - that is true. I am a 17 year old senior in high school, and my first car of my own is this xA RS1. Now you can think that I'm spoiled because of that, but I am thankful for it. Spoiled kids get what they want and thats it. That's a big difference. As time goes on, kids like me are beginning to get better and better cars for first cars. It is getting really noticeable, and its not because of being spoiled - at least not in my case. Just wanted to point that out. After all, Scion was targeting the younger population, were they not?

my first car was a 1990 Toyota Previa Minivan, with a crappy 4cyl engine. . . and I raced it. . . and lost. . . a lot. . . actually I always lost. Then I traded for a Corolla. . . "racing" accident scared me and I needed something a lil more agile/stable. The Corolla ____ed me off, so I bought a 1990 Lexus LS400, and did things to it. . . and won a lot. But now I own a Scion xA, and I lose sometimes (I pick less fights/races) but I am VERY happy with this car. It makes more financial sense for my financial situation, and it gets a lot of attention. . . even more so then a Lexus. . . how ironic.

Oh I know there are lots of kids out there who get nice things and appreciate them. Your're right....that does make a big difference. When I was a teenager, my best friend's family was very wealthy. My friend got brand new cars (really nice ones) every two years or so and he would always trash them. He never took care of them at all. His sister however, always seem to be thankful for hers and she always took great care of them. Big difference. I don't fault someone for having the financial means to buy their teenage son or daughter a new car. I fault those kids who aren't grateful or who complain because it's not exactly what they had in mind.

the reasons you loathe it so much is the parts that convinced me to buy the car in the first place. granted, i wasn't IN LOVE with the car when i first saw it. no one was buying xA's when we bought it so they were glad to give it to us, i think. but i grew to love it in a short time and it's my baby now.
but it IS a small car and it ain't for everybody. i'm a small person so it doesn't bother me. i'm sure there's others that hate it. empleh works at a scion dealership so he gets both sides and i've seen them - good and bad on the scions, xA and xB. lol trade it in or something. or sell it on craigslist. don't keep a car if it's driving you crazy.

i cannot imagine it. I' have driven GTOs, GTis, Ford Fiestas, Sciroccos....whatever. I love my Xa and cannot understand why anyone would not like it, or go to a Scionlife website to whine about it. I'm with the guy that parks his by the window so that he can see it.
Did you buy an automatic? An automatic is a drag and it doesn't matter which car it is.
