View Full Version : Drag DR-19 18" - (4 x 100/114.3)(5 x 100/114.3
GimpCent 02-19-2008, 07:19 PM Does anyone have any infomation on these rims, because sadly I cannot find much not even the weight. They are insanely cheap at about 145-160 per rim and I'm trying to find out why before I make a big mistake.

GimpCent 02-19-2008, 09:01 PM Anyone have any pics of them on a tc or at least the weight of these beasts?
Hyghgynx 02-20-2008, 12:09 AM I like a lot of the Drag styles, unfortunately their offsets suck. :(
Discounttiredirect.com is the way to go! Plus, you'll get FREE SHIPPING!!
10gxiong 02-20-2008, 12:22 AM my guess is that these wheels would be pretty heavy. not too sure about the quality of this brand.
GimpCent 02-20-2008, 02:21 AM With a offset of 45+ on stock everything would these 18 inchers pose any problems for me?
CRUZtc8 02-20-2008, 03:07 AM those are nice
SW_08 02-20-2008, 04:21 AM eh...idk about those...i have to see them on a tC.....
chaseonbass 02-20-2008, 11:24 AM I could of sworn there was a bsp tc in a magazine photshoot with these wheels on in gold. if not then they were veerrry similar, thats where i first saw them.
SW_08 02-20-2008, 11:57 AM What magazine?
hwybox 02-20-2008, 12:06 PM drag wheels are cheap but good quality. those are prob gona be around 20-23 lbs
ExpresScion 02-20-2008, 12:56 PM With a offset of 45+ on stock everything would these 18 inchers pose any problems for me?
No, you'll be fine. I would do some more searching though. Drag is a knock-off brand. You get what you pay for. Maybe you should save up and get some other wheels.
chaseonbass 02-20-2008, 12:56 PM i think maybe tunerzine? dont quote me on that
SW_08 02-20-2008, 12:58 PM UMMM....ok
Hyghgynx 02-20-2008, 02:54 PM I could of sworn there was a bsp tc in a magazine photshoot with these wheels on in gold. if not then they were veerrry similar, thats where i first saw them.
I believe you're thinking of nebster (http://www.scionlife.com/profile/nebster). And no, they are not Drags. His are much better.
That's not say Drags are bad. I have Flik Artics that ran me $100 ea and they are solid. (A tad bit heavy but that's ok.)
I get compliments all the time on my mesh Fliks.
chaseonbass 02-20-2008, 04:58 PM ^ I think you're right, they look similar... and gorgeous

KeRoLiUkAs 02-26-2008, 12:52 AM Yea, idk why anyone would confuse these for the cheap ___ drags, you can tell nebster's rims have quality just from the pictures.
nebster 02-26-2008, 12:58 AM lets see

PlayinWithFire 02-26-2008, 01:43 PM drag pwns nebster...
nebster 02-26-2008, 02:58 PM drag pwns nebster...
x2
wait
GimpCent 02-26-2008, 08:33 PM They look close enough for me at a glance not to tell the differance that I would feel in my pocket book....
nebster 02-26-2008, 08:40 PM you're dumb then.
Hyghgynx 02-27-2008, 05:18 AM This is why I  SL!!
People get all bent over the strangest things.
Thanks for making me laugh!!
SW_08 02-27-2008, 12:25 PM I LOVE SL......
GimpCent 02-28-2008, 02:33 AM you're dumb then.
Retail a set of your rims goes for around $2520 and is it by no means dumb for me not to see the differance between those two rims compared to to the differance in price....
With a set of tires you are looking at $3250 at least which is roughy 1/5th of the base price of the car itself.
nebster 02-28-2008, 02:47 AM right but you're also looking at a 1 piece cast wheel vs. a 3 piece forged wheel, the rims look 100x better than the drags and you will see that if you buy the drags.
i'm not telling you at all to buy my wheels because they're not for everyone but you can't deny that they're not anything alike and not anything comparable.
PlayinWithFire 02-28-2008, 03:28 AM its really a cost vs. quality issue. If you want something cheap, it wont be high quality. If you want something quality, it wont be cheap.
Forged wheel nut huggers like nebster and me love them for a reason. You get what you pay for. This applies to almost every modification out there.
So in this case, Drag is succeeding in marketing a wheel as a cheap alternative to the more expensive mesh wheels out there, but you won't be getting anywhere NEAR the reliability and quality of that of a forged wheels...
nebster 02-28-2008, 03:45 AM ooo POST THE PIC OF THE BROKEN WHEEL ALEX DO IT NOW
BZinn1 02-28-2008, 04:53 AM Nebster your rims look like the BBS rims I tried out in the Fall.........if the quality of them is the same as the BBS rims they're well worth the money..........
Wheels and tires have a function.............forged rims are worth the money and will last through most anything you put them through............track,shows,daily driving.........
Cast rims are really for basic driving........the Drag rims fit a budget and look fine.........will function fine........they are a bit on the heavy side.........and yes they look like the higher end style..........till you compare side by side.........
I wish I could of afforded the BBS rims, but I was unable to save that much and still eat...........LOL...........
Well I say get what you can afford..........if you have higher dreams then just be patient and save a little longer...........
I had to save for 6 months to get my rims today............
nebster 02-28-2008, 05:04 AM What rims did you go with BZinn
BZinn1 02-28-2008, 05:08 AM Wife got the konig Crosshairs.......they are in the ruby thread posted tonight by her......pretty decent rims............fit really well........but I really would love a set of forged BBS......mans gotta have dreams........
Next comes a CF Kami hood.
SW_08 02-28-2008, 01:16 PM ^ that should look hot with SCM
GimpCent 02-28-2008, 05:23 PM Okay you got me thinking
http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa297/NORTY01/28JAN2008032.jpg
nebster 02-28-2008, 05:32 PM what about it? thats what happens to cast wheels :)
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e350/nebster530/knock-offs.jpg
KeRoLiUkAs 02-28-2008, 09:03 PM 1st pic looks like a corvette rim,, so kudos to american engineering...2nd pic...well it looks like it's been in a accident, and that would happen to any rim.
nebster 03-06-2008, 10:04 PM i think the accident came because of the wheel :)
coreshredder 04-18-2008, 04:20 AM i just ordered a set of the drag rims and honestly it looks fine.. if it adds a little more weight.. that just means i gotta 1 either make my car a little fast or 2 lose some weight myself.. but honestly.. dont worry about them breaking.. if it breaks then im sure u can find it in ur heart to dish out another 150 for a new one.. i mean.. think about .. u crash with a set of 2-3 thousand dollar rims and ur ____ed when it comes to buying some new ones.. as far as i know.. insurance wont pay u for ur aftermarket ____.. plus like everyone else has been saying.. the drag rims really did up their looks and when u drive by ppl will still turn their heads
canrollya 04-18-2008, 06:07 PM "Drag Wheels is driven by the pure passion of JDM. "(from the description on tire rack)
Too bad they are made in China :lalala:
