I didn't know you could actually display all that stuff. Will it display in real time?

I want something to improve performance, not another scan tool. How come no one makes a reprogrammer for the xB to help out with performance???? SOMEONE LISTENING

Or get this. Real time feedback AND access to engine codes. Mount it where the speedo should be in your xB:

Some functions of the Xb use CAN protocol and none of these will work. What would you do with one anyway? The terminology used in OBDII and Toyota MOBD are not useful without very detailed technical explanations and parameters. Like if the data list said ST FUEL TR +13. Would these kind of things be of any use to you? Would you know what it meant? Also the ECM processer is 32 bit and "real-time" has a few seconds delay on the data stream. As fast as OBD programs are updated, I'm not sure if these tools would work for long anyhow. Save your money.

Does anyone know if you can pull up troublecodes through the check engine light?

My old Nissan and Subaru could flash thier check engine lights like morris-code
If you connected a jumper wire and turned the ignition key a certian way.

Any ideas on the xB?

No, OBDII won't give codes that way.

i just got a carchip ex, everthing works, though it spits out a slightly skewed speed rating. I like it, and it will allow me to identify maintenance issues before they become huge problems. between this and the gas milage, i will be able to see if there are any spikes in any engine or other parameters. if you get gas mileage that is out of nowhere 5-6 miles pergallon worse than normal, you got a problem.

Thats what the check engine light is for.

Thats what the check engine light is for.
True, but it is nice to see what is going on in the engine.
