VSV valve And Bracket for CAI?
Ok so I bought the Injen intake, and was looking at a write up from someone on the website. I have installed the injen as the short ram for now.
I noticed two things, I dont think I have a VSV valve, the one going from the intake to the head I just have a hose. What is the vsv ? and is it necessary ? price ?
Another thing Is the previous owner did not leave the bracket that you need to put a vibrating mount on in the engine bay. I think this is where the stock air filter bolts to ?
Anyone confirm this?

That hose is all you need, you need this little rubber thing that attaches to the intake bracket and to the old point where the stock air box sat, I have an extra one, so let me know if you want it and I'll send it to you for free, pm with your info. thank you.
P.S. If you do not have a check engine light, I would not worry about it too much.

I'm struggling with figuring out the actual point of the VSV on an intake myself. From an engineering standpoint I only came up with two legitimate purposes:
1) If there's no vacuum in the intake while the throttle is pressed down, then there's a throttle body problem.
2) If there's no vacuum in the intake, then the IAC valve needs to open up (but I have a few problems with this, since if in gear and moving, the idle air control doesn't need to be open, even if the throttle is closed.. maybe a combined check for engine speed? and also that the IAC would have to be electronically operated, which might be the case, but I haven't checked yet).
I welcome anyone to please fix my ignorance on this (ENGIFINEER WHERE ARE YOU?).
