Default Custom dual 12" subwoofer enclosure pics

My first venture into box-building.....

It houses two 12" Orion/Cobalt subs and I can still use the trunk

Looks pretty good!

I had a downfiring box with four 8" subs in my CRX years ago. It was the only car I've ever heard that made my ears literally hurt when it was cranked up. When it was below the pain threshold it was tight, clean, and low.

I've run the wires for everything and now I just need to select my amps. I need to figure out what will fit in the under-seat storage tray. That way I can remove the box when necessary by just disconnecting two pairs of speaker wire.

I'll re-post after I've chosen the amps and provide sound results.

Looks good. I'd seen a few variations after this one popped up a while back: http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_...roducts_id=412
It does allow you to keep your space rather usable, essentially just raised the floor. Good job!

I have 2 9x13" amps under the rear seat and they fit pretty well. You have to put them with the shorter dimension front to back or you can't put the seat back in place. There is contact and light pressure on the amp from the seat, but it functions just fine - 2+ hrs running constant, I have the fins facing out toward the opening. 500/1 and 300/4 JL amps, dual distribution blocks on the hump.

Removing the entire seat frame/etc isn't that bad - I put a writeup somewhere earlier step by step with the bolts/placement/etc. - it's somewhere in this forum Just take a coping saw to cutout the tray and you're golden - looks quite sexy once it's in place. I've got a few more minor mods to make and then I'm all done and will take pics.
