Default Another Header Topic...

Well, not exactly. I just wanted to show a new mod that I added to my car yesterday morning. It's my new Jet-Hot Coated Megan Racing Header.
I saw what happens to the header after sometime after driving around, and I didn't want my header to become that "bronze-ish" color. It looks ugly. So, I decided to get it done by Jet-Hot. The coating I selected was the Extreme Sterling and the Matte Black finish. Thanks to Draxcaliber for telling me about the Extreme Sterling. "This coating is great for mild turbocharged or supercharges applications, or on pipes that have turned grey with other silver finishes." According to the site.

This is just the beginning of what else I have in store for my car. BUT, I will NOT post up the parts in my profile unlike some on here too. I'm waiting till I do install the parts before I update my profile. Onto the pics...

BTW... I wish I had taken a picture before I put it into the car. I had it for two weeks before I put it in, and of course I didn't take a picture. Oh well...

i see you are running full megan racing exhaust, i.e. header s-pipe and midpipe/catback. how is the noise with that setup? or do you have a resonator in there somewhere?

No resonator on my setup. I'm gonna be honest here... I don't mind the sound. It is louder, and I notice the rasp, but that's only at WOT. But how often are you driving at WOT? I really don't mind it, I actually like it alot more.

^ nice, do you have a soundclip? i have the same setup but without header, since i'm still unsure with the noise.

also, did you pop a CEL?

the headers look nice btw, i did my stock heatshield in that exact same matte black color.

I will do a sound clip soon, it's just the weather here in L.A. has been crappy lately. It's been raining.

In regards to the CEL, to my surprise and I'm sure to many others... NO CEL. I didn't do anything different. The shop installed my header, and then I drove it home. Why, I don't know. But so far, nothing.

I think the price of the jet-hot is worth it. It will also make the header look ALOT better than the wrap, but that's just personal preference...

Looks good, wrapping headers can be bad in the long run, there's a chance the piping might crack, this is more full proof.

fool proof...

but yeah, that does look good, but i also like the look of header wrap... i think i'd do wrap mine too in some black header wrap, and i havent heard of a header cracking, that sounds like a bad product

i think the wrap vs. jet-hot is just a personal preference. I personally like the jet-hot more, it just looks cleaner...

^ Thanks. You should look into the jet-hot as an option. It looks good, and I personally like it better than the "bronze" look you will get. I like it more the the header wrap too...
