im located in Toronto and was wondering if anyone has any experience in importing TC.
My current options are:

-Buying from local dealership (sent off email to canadian auto sales already)
-Import myself
-Import through specialist

I've done some research (using this forum and other places) and seen that RIV allows importation of 2007 only models (if only 2008 were allowed...**sigh**). All my questions pertain to importing myself.

Since dealerships dont seem to have problems selling used cars to canadians, does anyone know of a good dealership near Toronto or Waterloo?

How does financing work if im importing? I'd like to work out the financial issues as i most likely will be paying monthly installments with maybe 10-20% downpayment.

Is warranty covered? I've heard that warranties are good to go in canada, but i've also heard of dealerships refusing to work on scions since parts aren't readily avail.

When it comes to cars.You must have clear title in hand to import. So you can not have a loan on the car in the US and a Canadian bank will not loan unless the car is titled in Canada already.

So you will have to either pay cash or borrow money not using the car as collateral.

As far as warranty, an American titled Scion is under Toyota's warranty at Canadian dealers if you are on vacation;but since there are no Scion Dealers in Canada I am unclear of your warranty rights once the car stops being an American car. A quick call to a Canadian Toyota dealer should straighten that out.

Have you contacted a Canadian DMV to make sure you can license one?

i know that 2007 tc are eligible for importations from their online documentation(www.riv.ca). Also, the proof that other dealerships can sell used 2007 is proof enough for me =)
