Removing Stock HU......Need Help
Maybe this is a a silly question, but after removing the four 10mm bolts from the brackets on the stock HU, It seems the wiring in the rear of the unit are not long enough to allow me to pull it out of the dash......
Is there some trick?
What am I overlooking?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Brian

the wires are not long enough to come out of the dash but i dont see why you have to pull out the wires? you just unplug all the connectors on the back of the head unit and youve removed it! then take off the brackets and re-use them in the next head unit.

Something is catching on the harness. I am able to pull my head unit out and rest it on the gear shift with it still fully connected. That allows access to the back of the radio to release the plugs. Maybe your harness is catching on the corner of something.

Well, thanks for the input guys. I took the small dash piece below the guages out and was able to peer in and see the problem more clearly. There was indeed one group of wires that were the problem. I traced it down behind the glove box, clipped the wire tie restricting it, and...............viola! Radio out and the new one in....no problem.
Now...............that wasn't so bad.
