Default Head Unit that works with Zune?

Greets all!

I'm thinking about picking up the xB2 5.0 and I'm trying to convince myself it won't be a terrible expense to get it looking and working as nice as my '05 xB Blue Onyx Pearl.

One of the things I'd like to do is find a head unit that will work/control a Zune...and it would be a plus if the steering wheel controls would still work.

Anyone hear of such a thing?

there is no interface that works to control the zune through the radio, factory or aftermarket.. You can buy the optional a/v output cable for the zune and hook it up to an aftermarket tv headunit to control the menus thorugh the radio but still have to use the controls on the zune to navigate.. I have it that way on my Z2.. i will try to snap some pics tomorrow of it.. its very nice.. and i can easily reach down and go throw the menus with a problem having to look at the radio rather than the zune.

BTW.. only a 30gig or 80gig zune has a tv out setting in the player to project it out on the screen via the a/v cable.

Doesn't it have some sort of rca type of output? so you can plug it into the brain box in one of the extra inputs? I mean I realize its not like the ipod where you can control it through the deck, but you can still display it all through the screen correct?

I figured aftermarket, that's why I was asking....

Are you able to control the Zune through the head unit? Or simply play back through it?

Looks good xbean, thanks for clearing all that up for me!

Good job figuring it out by the way. I've been searching high and low (on this and other forums), and this is the first time someones put it all together and actually done it!

Thanks!

yes the controls work using a PAC adapter, pain to setup but worth it.

amd yes its through the rca connection.

The zune supports most formats that Windows Media plays.

I've got music videos, movies, TV Episodes, and I get regular updates of popular videos on You Tube and Pod Casts.
