how do those sound? i imagine that they would rattle really bad

 

my friends were completely muffled with anyone in the back seat. even with out any one back there they didnt sound well placed. subs my be diff in that respect

I just slapped some in the windows....

 

Unless you don't mind cutting some metal, or the interior door cover itself, those rear doors do not allow much room for any kind of speaker install.

I tried to do it with the minimum amount of cutting (ie. as stock as possible) and found that just about nothing fit there. I ordered and bought a few different sizes and shapes and found that only a 4 inch square speaker fit there without to much modifcation. It is not the best sounding but it adds a little to the stock system.

I do like Hotbox05;s setup. Look real clean !!

 

those CF door panels are designed to hold 8" subs, not a 6.5" component system. ofcourse, because the door panel doesn't actualy make a real enclosure for the sub, it will sound muffeled and crapy. you could make an adapter piece to fit a 6.5" with it's component tweeter and fit it to the same spot. at that point it would sound nice. i'm looking to get my self a full set of those CF door panels and making the adapter piece my self.

 

There are only a handful of them around and i think half of them just changed owners.

 

I heard the people that made those went out of buisness

all pictured as CF but i have given them a ring before and asked them about it. they told me the CF ones are copies from firmware and the fiberglass ones are just the same and that they make them all them selfs.

 

how is the quality???

 

h3ll if i know, i havn't had the pleasure to spill $700 on a full set yet but will gladly say whether or not they are good or a waste of money.
