BACKYARD BRAWLER KIT 1,999.99

For those looking for that "backyard" set-up. This is the kit for you.
Replaces the intercooler with water/methanol injection kit
Includes:
T3/38 log style manifold
2.5" shorty Downpipe/ bolts to factory s-pipe
Garrett T3/TO4E 50 trim .48ar turbo
Tial 38mm wastegate
Bosch blow off valve
3" intake pipe with K & N air filter
2.5" turbo outlet to throttle body piping
Vacuum block with fittings
Oil feed/drain lines
Installation hardware
Water/methanol injection kit

I went to turbotoyotas.com because alot of people said they have pretty good pricing for turbo kits. I checked them out and ran across this kit. I have a couple of questions. First off what is a log style manifold exactly. Also what are the disadvantages of having water/methanol injection kit instead of intercooler. Also has anyone bought this and have any ideas on the numbers it gets. And last question, is this kit WORTH it. If this has already been asked or posted im sorry. I looked but im also not the most intelligent person in the world. THanks

The log manifold is similar to that of the zpi kits, the disadvangate go having watermeth cooling is that its not as good as front mount, its a spray that shoots into ur air intake system, u can set it to go off at any boost lvls to cool ur temps down, my friend has a watermeth setup in his GLI making 21 psi, it works well, but he also has a front mount. The backbrawler kit is awsome, im gona be grabbing one soon, u can get a frount mount urself off the internet cheap, and do the piping urself its really easy, all u need after would be some injectors a 3'' dp and a tune w/ a fic and ur set.

TurboToyotas anything is worth it!

and i mean no offense to this but if you dont know what a log style manifold is you need to look into turbocharging a motor and turbo systems all together.. get the basics down, then look into your budget, then make your purchase based on your power goals and ammount your willing to spend to get there! good luck

TurboToyotas is the isshhhhhh, now you know! haha

Or you can get the TurboToyotas "Simple" kit which is around $400 more and is the same kit, yet comes with an intercooler. Thats what I would do, front mount is better...

Its a great kit, looks like it performs better and is more reliable than the stage0 from zpi, and its cheaper and comes with a water meth?!? a rediculous bargain. And yeah running front mount and watermeth is awsome. win win situation.

Yeah, you should ask Todd of TurboToyotas what sort of options he has for adding a FMIC to the brawler in the future.

If you want a Backyard Brawler kit from the start with an IC it would = the SIMPLE KIT

If you want to upgrade a Brawler kit in the future to an IC setup = easy

3 chargepipes and the IC.

Best of bothworlds...IC and water injection = really good things

If I made a post about what the kit did............it would turn into a big fiasco.

Lets just say it did between 260-315whp at 9spi with just water :)

The AIT's where SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But thats all I am going to say. Have to know when to keep my mouth shut.

Damn! Nice numbers...

Typically, how often would you have to refill the reservoir?

Run an intercooler regardless of what kit or stage you buy. It helps more than you know.

Yes, you will still need engine management. I offer package deals with a purhase of a turbo kit. :)

As for the clutch, that all depends on you and how you drive. If you like to drag race, yes you will need a clutch. Its recommended but not a must.

and this is just bolt on correct

Only modification you need to do with this kit is drill a hole in your oil pan for the oil drain.

Otherwise its 99.9% bolt on.

how often does the water meth need to be refilled

TurboToyotas

how often does the water meth need to be refilled

Depends on a few things:

1- Driving style = how heavy your foot is

2- The jetting size

3- IF your just using water or a mix of meth and water

Lots of variables.....

oops forgot one

4- The size of your tank :)

It is if you ask....but I took a few things off the website. I have too many options right now and I am trying to play catch up :)

I totally agree...to a point. This kit actually has lower AIT's than the normal kits do...but you have to keep up on the level of the water/meth. Otherwise bad things can happen.

But ideally you want both :)

Yea... but lets face it. Most our tCs are daily drivers so keeping tabs on refilling the water/meth to me doesnt sound ideal! Anyways... Manifold is sick though! haha
