Default deviation of 2nd gen from first gen principles.

I was wondering if Toyota (scion) is kicking themselves for supersizing the 2nd gen xB. I keep looking at other small car sales.. such as the fit and versa. and they are climbing due to the gas price crunch and economy... if toyota would have played it cards a little better with the 2 new models by providing a product that was similar in fashion to the first gen xB/xa. instead of giving us an american version.. I think the whole American version is what is hurting u.s. automakers... i would gladly buy a ford focus if i could get the awsome model they have in europe.. fiesta rs ect... long story short i feel toyota was on to something with the small, lightweight fun to drive model... I don't wanna buy her fat sister.. anywho just a rant .. any comments?

My comment is that this topic has been beaten to death already. It always ends poorly.

So, yea.

the 2nd gen is a failure in their books. they already know this. nothing they can do now.

it has been beaten over and over.

As the others mentioned, this topic has been done to death. Run a search and you'll find plenty more info on the subject...

So wait, you're gonna rant about something and then _____ about negative comments? Please direct me to the logic train, because I'm not seeing it.

But your rant ended with the question "any comments?", as if it were a new subject you wished to discuss! Even being kind, that's pretty flawed logic.
I'm truly sorry if you feel that too many posts get negative responses here, but:
A. as burstaneurysm alluded, this IS a forum, and that by definition allows any and all comments on any given topic. Expecting anything less is a bit naiive on your part. I don't think most folks here are usually being nasty in their responses on purpose, it's just that with as many members as frequent here, there are going to be one heck of a lot of different opinions! If you don't want opposing opinions (especially when asking for comments), maybe a blog would be better suited to your approach.
B. I'm not familiar with any of your previous posts, but perhaps they were met with a less-than-warm reception because of similar circumstances to this one?

My thoughts are... Yes, the xB2 should be a failure to teach Toyota to listen to their customers instead of just consumer groups. We would have been much better off with the new bB that the rest of the world got.
There I posted without affending any xB2 owners.

They got exactly what the general consumer asked for...more power, all disc brakes, more room, not so controversial/edgy but mainstream styling...oh, except the less MPG part!

Cube and ROW xB2 now you're talking! Hopefully one of those makes it here before my PW croaks.

Ha, Gen1 OG box for me, thank you.
