I am not sure for fact but I remember seeing a turbo timer in a car alarm system. If that;s true I would get the alarm, remote start, turbo timer for the price of one. Oh and the brand was AutoPage

I got the Apexi turbo timer, but you have to splice it into the ECU which scares me because if you do it wrong, you're screwed, so I just watch my EGT gauge and wait until it goes down to 600 degrees and wait for a few minutes and it's all good. It's a pain in the butt, but oh well.

I run the HKS Type-1 Turbo timer. Yeah you can get a car alarm system that has a built in timer that will do the turbo timers job. However where they differ is...

Turbo Timer has:

0-60 time
60 foot time
1/8th mile time
1/4 mile time
Built in shift light
RPM sensor
MPH sensor

All of which I love using.

^ oh yeah, oh yeah, well I have a blitz DTT and it does all that except the first 7 things you listed. LOL. But it does have a lap timer and more importantly a Digital Boost gauge as well as an option to set it to light up if you go over a certain amount of boost, a warning light if you will.

Oh, I forgot to list the lap timer on mine as well and the voltage monitor... Probably forgetting something else besides having the ability to set how long to keep the car running for (...30 secs, 1:00, 1:30..etc.). Or you can set it to Auto, and it will keep your car running depending on how hard you drove it.

Wow...the HKS does all that?
there are many alarms that have the timer built in, like the zenesis.

But here is a question for you all...why is it that no factory boosted cars have turbo timers?

Because there is no money in it for the manufacturers?... Why would they want something to prolong the life of a part that is known to have a limited lifespan under stress?

Is there any answer I am curious too now...

scooba:
thing is, they WOULD want it so that it doesn't break something before the warantee is up.

I was told that a turbo timer is not neccesary on cars that arent' running much boost, like up to 20psi or so, because we dont' run our motors like we are racing road coarses all the time.
After normall driving, even after boost, by the time you pull into a parking lot or whatnot, you have probably given your motor enough time to cool off.
