Thanks for the help!
Easyoboe2 04-20-2008, 05:08 PM Does the top of the armrest project far enough forward so that I may shift with my elbow on the armrest? If so, I'll buy one immedialtly. That was the situation in my xB.

It's hard to answer your question because everyone has a different arm length. There is another thread that details dimensions. Click the link below for info:

The "xB2" armrest never gained traction as there weren't enough customers for it to be economically viable.
We may take another look at it very soon as we just picked up a new CNC machine and we may be able to make the mold in house. If anything develops, I will post.

pg1234 06-13-2008, 01:34 AM Installed my Zeta armrest today... anybody else find that it's kinda wobbly side to side? Not necessarily the armrest, as it secures well, but the center console piece once the armrest is attached? Wondering if my center console isn't secured properly...

You may experience some side movement because of the overall design of the console. The armrest is very stable (more important) when there is downward pressure.

hansta 06-21-2008, 10:19 AM Xd NEEDED armrest! i always don't know where to put my arm on IN my car haha THIS IS AWSOME! great job guys, THANKS!
GeoUSA 09-17-2008, 06:17 PM Received and installed my Zeta armrest a week ago. I really like the false floor which is removable -- the hidden cup holder area below it is a perfect place to hide cash for an emergency.
The cushioned top is very comfy and the storage space is nice to have. Only change I would request in a future version is to make the rear pop-out cupholder of a better grade of plastic. Otherwise, it's exactly what I wanted.

Is ther any way to modify this armrest to mount similarly to the JDM piece?
I really prefer your design but I'm still not convinced to drill a hole in my cupholder!
Even if it's a little more $$, can you help us out?

The cup holder mounting is pretty stable. Fabricating metal brackets like the JDM one would add too much to the cost of the item. Try the armrest AS-IS. You will not be disappointed.

Apparently you either missed my point or chose not to answer the question?
Here it is again:
Point 1-I'm still not convinced to drill a hole in my cupholder
Point 2-Even if it's a little more $$, can you help us out?
I'm sure it's stable, although "pretty stable" really doesn't cut it in my world. It's like being "kinda close"
It's either stable or it's not.
I don't want to "use it as it is" so that's really not an adequate answer.
Furthermore, I don't really see how fabricating mounts can add that much to the over all cost?
If necessary, make them an "add on cost" and a mounting option for us anal retentive types that want it that way.
It becomes a solution for those of us that would rather have a more stable mount (see the other replies in this thread) and another profit center for you:)
A win-win both ways.
It would seem that if the japaneese can figure it out, so could you;)
oboogie 10-01-2008, 01:30 AM It isn't stable, and it doesn't look factory. Also, no way was I going to drill through the cupholder. That's why I didn't want to put one in my brand new car. So basically, I'm with you, Pirate.

I just can't imagine how difficult it could be to fab a couple of brackets?
If you can make the darned armrest, the brackest should be cinch!
I'll make you a deal.
Send me one to use as a prototype.
I'll have the brackets made and keep the armrest as my "fee."
I'll send you the schematics and you can have the design and sell it as an option;)
If I can't do it, I'll send it back to you undamaged or buy it myself.
How's that?
zetaproducts 10-01-2008, 02:37 PM Frankly, we have sold pallets of these armrests just the way they are. We have had fantastic customer feedback since day one! The cost is right and the thing works. As they say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
Actually, you do not need to screw the armrest into the cup holder to make it work. The base fits very snug in there and the screws are there just to keep it from twisting (spinning) since the cup holder is round and the base of the armrest is round too. You can use another method to secure it such as double stick tape or Velcro. You can even use it with nothing at all!
If we went ahead and offered the armrest with brackets, that would add to the cost and make the item less competitively priced. I do not think the sales would be that much better by offering a set of brackets. In the end, the armrest works and customers are happy.

"Frankly" I don't care how many "pallets"of these you've sold
You're still tap dancing around the question! How difficult can it be to fab some brackets?
You can take the arrogant road ie this statemnent: The cost is right and the thing works. As they say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
or you can try to respond to your potential customer base concerns. These concerns have been voiced here before.
Actually, you sort of step on your own foot with this statement:

If there's a potential to spin then it "ain't stable!"
It's easy to get good feedback when you're the only game in town. Now that the JDM's are available as are another product from another manufacturer, it might be a little different.

It's obvious that you're not willing to listen to your client base. (ever work for GM?):(
Who knows? Try a poll. See if the clientele would be willing to purchase the brackets or if they feel they chould be added? I know those concerns were voiced before;)
You're making it sound like fabbing brackets would cost $$$$$$. Thats rediculous! Frankly, it's just time and a few templates. If' you're unwilling to do it, I made you an offer. Want to try me or not?
There's absolutely no reason the brackets should add that much more to the product cost. As a matter of fact, if you'd get your head out of the sand, you'd see the additonal profit center (do you even know what a profit center is?) possible by the introduction of the brackets as an option!
Then again.....why try to make a better products? This same thought process has worked for GM for years
BTW, I'm not trying to bust your balls, but I've been in business for almost 20 years. You've got to move ahead or get left behind!

GeoUSA 10-15-2008, 03:06 PM I'm surprised people are concerned about putting a screw into the cupholder. If you lift the black fabric out of the rear factory cupholder, notice that Toyota has already put a hole and fastener in there... If you ever decide to remove the armrest, you could simply put the black fabric back into the rear cupholder and no one would know.

That is a good point! The 2 screws are used only to keep the armrest from twisting. You can get away with one screw or use some double-stick tape.

XLR8R 01-09-2009, 06:14 PM just ordered mine off ebay cant wait to get it in. :)
1800collect 04-22-2009, 05:16 AM I just purchased an arm rest on eBay from Zeta. It's pretty cool. The height is slightly low for me personally (I'm 5'10"), but it's still sufficient. It's a little darker than the gray inside, but I like it. It even has a little tray to keep your spare change organized which is nice. It took me a second to figure out where to put the inside tray and I didn't realize you remove the coin tray and put it underneath.
My only concern is the arm rest "door" seems to not snap closed that well and it might break easily. Maybe it's just mine.

1800collect 04-23-2009, 04:04 PM I would like to update my post since I've driven with it normally on my daily commutes. It is quite nice. The height I have got use to and the padding sure makes me "feel" like I'm driving a nicer car since my elbow rubs against it when I shift gears (manual car). It doesn't get in the way type of rubbing, just my arm/elbow is resting on top while I shift to the 2,4 gears (back gears). It gives a nice tactile feedback. I could maybe see a cloth or plastic arm rest rubbing and irritating my skin.
