I am thinking this is a BAD IDEA.. The tC does NOT need to be like the xB.. I mean WTF. How about making it Lighter and add some power via Turbo from the factory, an Extra gear alla 6 speed tranny, that sits on a rearwheel drive platform with a Limited Slip in the rear end, or even better yet make it All wheel drive and call it an All Trac like in the 90's.

If this is the rear quarter, then it could look promising.

hako means box when I googled it. Maybe this new tC will be like an xB coupe?

Yes, it is in the article which is the first post "The sporty interpretation of the box concept was developed by Tokyo Design Division which studied global, youth-inspired trends."

why are people already judging the car just by a teaser shot. wait till they reveal the whole thing then do whatever you want.

Are you serious???

There is no way this is the rear quarter. Mostly because the car ends. And you can see the headlight.

it can still be the rear quarter. notice the short overhang and those lights could be LED tailights.

Default Hako

Hako is the name for the SUPER GT racing type of cars. & I would think that this would be closer the the FUSE concept because it was developed around the Super GT type of car. The angles of the teaser pic suggest the same high ARSS the Fuse has.

Notice the round opening down low. The Fuse had an integrated BACK UP LIGHT & 3rd Brake Light built into the dual rear exhaust. If Scion carries this over, the next TC will be more like the xB2 with the odd rear end light set up that no one can fall in love with! LOL

Also, the name HAKO would suggest a stronger power train and Toyota has been public about developing an inexpensive rear wheel car with Fuju Heavy Duty (aka Subaru).

So let's hope & wish it's the hot tuner ready car that HAKO suggests & stop knocking it before we see more than 15% of the outside of it!

just so you know, that is the FRONT if I remember it correctly, although the front looks a lot like the back as far as placement of lights. but that's all I can say hehehe

from what I was told at the roundtable event at wintergreen, the reason they cant do the 6 speed tranny or turbo is because they are tring to stay on a budget under 20 thousand. also they were asking us about what we thought of a mini truck idea, not saying thats what this is going to be that. and... scion said they are keeping the tC till 2010, and plaing to keep 5 total cars for their lineup. so this isnt exactly a replacement just a totally new model
