Default Aftermath * need opinions *

Long story short:

car got broken into, among other vadalising acts they used a crow bar to jank off my CF lip spoiler. So now i'm left with crow bar dents on the trunk (where the spoiler was) and on top of the tail light.

Insurance $:

geico reserved $800 for the fixing of these dents.

My opinion:

they cannot be fixed the good old way of hammering them out because of the very weird/bad location and I'd rather not have bondo on my car.

Solutions:

1. give shop $800 to fix dents their way and if they need more money let them deal with Geico - BUT then i'd have a 3 different shade FM car since I also had my hood repainted a while back.

2. Buy Viniati spoiler that would cover all of those dents. I'd like to do CF but CF is what attracted the thieves to my car so I'll have to go with FM. If I do get the spoiler I'll have left over money to spend on an alarm system.

I would go w/ the spoiler and alarm. That spoiler is just damn sexy and you really need an alarm especially after all this.

Are there any chips or cracks on the paint? if there are it will only spread out like a spider, so make sure the paint is not chipped or cracked, if it isnot I say put the spolier over it, nobody will ever notice.

i dont think someone would break into your car to remove your carbon fiber hatch... I would say it is a better bet than buying another spoiler and having that ripped off the hatch

I know the hatch can't be stolen.....but i dont wanna know what they will do to the car (i.e. vandalize it) cos they get mad they can't have it.

Same thing happene to my cf mirrors; they tried to take them but couldn't cos i epoxied them good so they cracked them

tc4italy,

get yourself a nice alarm system with proximity sensors and go carbon fiber til your heart stops.

a nice alarm prevents all the bs you've been through thus far. but i'm sure you heard it already

Let the shop fix it, or find someone selling an FM hatch to replace yours with, CF hatches look stupid without CF hoods etc.. and you don't want to put that spoiler on knowing there's all kinds of ____ down there, plus all those dents and such will make your spoiler probably not sit right and therefore won't be as attached and will probably get stolen again.

get one of the fancy talking ones... step away from the vehicle. Then if you get bored with the tint you could sit inside it with it on and watch ppls reactions lol

the dents on th trunk r deep but are very small/narrow in diameter not enough to compromise flushness of the spoiler. The dents above the tail light maybe would but spoiler wont be stuck there

i'll have to take pics..
