long post w/ alot of questions...noob.
*before i even begin, let me explain somethings to avoid the typical "search" response...
I work 10-12 hrs a day all week long while attending early morning and evening classes w/ the exception of wed. evening and on wed. and the weekends i drive to go see my gf of 2 yrs.who goes to college nearly an hour away. so the only chance i really get to check this site is on my phone(pda) during my lunch break, I've tried to find what im looking for but it's extremely hard because the search box doesnt even show up on the mobile version of this site. so any help would be much appriciated...*
ok so here's the deal, tax returns are comming up, i've had the car for a couple years now and have only done minor things to it i.e. cai, system, and a domo doll lol...since i spend so much time driving around i'd really like to do something to improve the suspension so i can enjoy the ride and stance a little more. I've always wanted coilovers. alot of people tell me to just get springs, but you dont even understand how excitted i get when i need to change the oil or brake pads, i just like to work on my car whenever i get some free time. so i think being able to mess with the ride height whenever i get a couple hours would be awesome. so here are my questions:
-how hard is the initial install on them? I've installed springs before...
-are dampening, and camber adjustment important enough to pay extra for? it is a daily driver and i never goto the track, but like i said before i just like to mess with my car...
-what are some good quality coilovers between$900-1100?
-also i live in indiana where the road quality isnt the best so that might affect which would be the best in my area.
-how do you evenly drop the car? i mean measurement-wise, how do you know how much you've dropped each individual corner?
-and lastly do you need to adjust camber and get an alignment each time you re-adjust the height? if so how hard is it to adjust camber yourself and how do you do that?

i'm going to just answer the questions i know the answers to...(duh).coilovers should be as hard to way easier than the installation of springs, since some don't even need any spring compression. i've heard that H&R coilovers are good, and i saw them sold for 1000. to evenly drop a car, i'd just go by looks, see how much space there is between the tire and the fender and such. and you'll only need to adjust the camber only if you change the ride height by like 2+ inches. if you are going do a lot of height changes, invest in some adjustable rear camber links, so that youll get a bit more adjustment rather than the stock ones.
-how hard is the initial install on them? I've installed springs before...
front are simple...rear are a little difficult
-are dampening, and camber adjustment important enough to pay extra for? it is a daily driver and i never goto the track, but like i said before i just like to mess with my car...
Unless you go lower than 2 inches...an alignment will work perfectly
-what are some good quality coilovers between$900-1100?
I don't know how much K sports are, but for that price i would go with springs and some Koni adjustable shocks
-also i live in indiana where the road quality isnt the best so that might affect which would be the best in my area.
for springs i would recommend either Tein H-techs, Eibachs, or TRD then
-how do you evenly drop the car? i mean measurement-wise, how do you know how much you've dropped each individual corner?
it depends on the springs you buy...typically, the springs lower the front more than the rear
-and lastly do you need to adjust camber and get an alignment each time you re-adjust the height? if so how hard is it to adjust camber yourself and how do you do that?
Each time you readjust the height on coilovers you should get an alignment, if you go lower than 2 inches, like i said earlier...you are better off with the camber adjustments...hope this helps

Yeah I would reccomment the H&R or trd coilovers, those seem to provide the most comfort and driveability. You might also want to pick up the front camber bolts. Like said before, unless you will be lowering more than 2"s the rears will be fine as far as camber goes. You won't be able to zero out your camber but you can run 1 degree negative just fine without having to worry about your tires or any of that. Just make sure and get your toe zeroed out all they way around, that will kill your tires.
Everytime you lower or raise your car your camber and toe will change, not drastically but they will. I'd recommend setting up the height once right after you first install it then getting it alligned. After that you'll be able to get away with about 1/2" of adjustablity without messing with your camber and toe too much.
