Just found out all scions uses timing chain. How is this serviced and on what milage? I know timing belts normally needs replacement by 60K miles, but what about chain?

i did not know we had a chain,that is great news!as to maintenace,i have an 87 toy truck with 218,000 mls.and i have changed the chain tenison block at 175k,no other problems.wife has a saturn with 106k,no chain problems yet.chains are great.hoorah!

me again with the chain you do want to do regular oil changes ,according to most dealers

the chain doesn't even have to be checked until 100k. even then it doesn't "have" to be replaced.

yeah thats what i thought. even my 190E with 130K+ miles did not get any service on its chain. i wish we also have self adjusting chain.

yeah my old 81 bimmer showed barely any wear or anything after 190k on its chain.
