xA with CAI and TRD exhaust
I'm a new Scion owner....so new in fact, that I'm still waiting about a week before I can pick mine up from the dealership.
I just ordered a 2005 xA with CAI and TRD exhaust.....just exactly how much horsepower increase will I see with these two options?

I'd say about 4 or 5hp. . . the AEM from the port isn't all that great, and doesn't add that much power, due to a long pipe, multiple bends, and the water bypass(slows airflow a bit). The results are in the intake shootout, and I believe it was 2-3hp, if I remember correctly. I've also seen dyno's for exhaust, and there aren't much improvements either, as the stock exhaust isn't all that restrictive. Especially if you are swapping only the exhaust, I wouldn't expect much of an improvement. Secondly, the engine is only a 1.5L, and it's not moving that much air. . . so going for bigger piping will help out maybe 1-2hp max, IMO. After all, only turbo engines NEED super fat exhaust piping.
The power gains may not be huge. . . but your car will SOUND great! If you want an intake that adds pep, go for the Injen short ram.

Thanks for the suggestion (and for the quick answer). I'll keep that in mind for the future....I wanna see if I like it as is first. I checked out your Polar White xA pics BTW...phat ride dude.
I would opt for the Injen CAI. It's about 50 dollars more than the Injen SRI, but it includes an extension pipe. It gives you the ability to have the best of both types of intakes...
If you don't like all the bends (restricts air flow, a little), go with the K&N Typhoon (CAI) for the xA. It's also a little cheaper than the Injen short ram. The reason I did not buy the Typhoon for my xA was because the filter sat lower (behind fog light) than the Injen CAI (right under headlight).

Gotta take some sound bytes of your TRD exhaust. I'm curious how it will sound.
