IMO~ TRD needs to focus more on the Formula1 sector. No offense, but NASCAR isn't "real" racing. Not only does F1 racing provide a valuable platform for development, it seals the deal for Toyota as a REAL competitor in autosports.

while I agree that real racing requires you to turn left AND right, this is America & americans, as a whole like NASCAR.

I think they should put GT racing on TV. I prefer to watch cars that LOOK like cars.

If Toyota wants to be considered a motorsports contender, they should try making a sports car...

The only reason Toyota is in NASCAR, is to appeal to the typical American. They're trying to sell more cars outside highly populated areas. Screw nascar, screw F1, screw LeMans, bring back Rally.

For me, any kind of automobile racing is great! But I'm not a big fan of NASCAR, but I respect that sport. It's must be hard to go around and around for hundreds of miles

Yeah, it can get confusing...every now and then they think they have to make a right.

Toyota did fairly well last night in qualifying. Jarno Trulli placed 6th while Timo Glock came in at 9th. Not too shaby Toyota.

All the engines have restrictor plates so all the cars are running roughly the same horsepower. How any one car can make it consistently to the top few positions seem kind of ridiculous considering they all go about the same speed. I'm not going to argue that NASCAR is as hard a sport as F1 or any other kind of racing but it does require skill. Mostly, I think it's just drafting from one car to the enxt until you get to the top. It seems to me like it's a lot like racing with a bunch of people on a highway. Regardless though, it's not as easy as a lot of import elitists think.

I wonder, though, whether rally or F1 is harder. F1 seems tough because you're running out there with a multitude of other cars on a track that features right turns among other directions but rally is basically racing at full speed with no traction. The very concept is crazy!

^^ Well said my friend. In NASCAR, there is a lot of strategy involved, more so than F1 due to the fact that it is so much longer. Not to say that there isn't any in F1, it's just that the races are so unpredictable. For example, this last race of the Australian Grand Prix was so chaotic, that the safety car went out a lot, and it just wasted too much time.

^^ That's a great question. And I would love to know that too. But what I know is that Toyota is new the the F1 scene. Maybe they work in partnership with Panisonic? The logo on your avatar is of that team, right. Plus, I believe the Williams team runs on Toyota engines, but I'm not sure. I need to do some research.

Yup, the Williams team uses a Toyota engine, but not as advanced as the Toyota's RVX-08 engine. Williams placed better though in last years constructor's points.

Toyota has been around since 2002, so just give them some time. I think they will do just fine with Jarno Trulli behind the wheel. He has been with the team since 2004.
