300 bucks isnt gonna happen soon, so I smoked the tails for now...

 

Looks real nice. What did you use?

Do you just take out the tails and spray? (no prep?)

 

Matte clear with black tint, then clearcoat (gloss) on top. Yes I did remove them. Lightly sanded with some 400 just to give the surface some tooth and washed the hell out of them. When the sun hits em then take on a dark ruby tone.

 

so how did you wash the hell out of them? my tails need to get shiny ... i can't seem to get them even remotely glossy

looks good btw. i'd say keep these and forget about the anzos. this is more custom.

 

I washed em with hot water and dawn dish soap, let em air dry then a quick once over with acetone on a lint free cloth just to make sure the surface was really clean.

And thanks, I did the side markers on the mirrors the same way

 

Nice job man! No doubt one of the best tint jobs I've seen on here. If there were no Anzos, I was going to tint mine. But my Anzos will be here Monday!

 

looks nice. i just added a couple more coats on mine to get a little darker. i used VHT nightshades. just spray>clear>done (you could sand too but i didnt)

oy show the side markers! im tired of the yellow!!. Is their anyway to change the tails back to stock if needed to pass some sort of dealer inspection?

nag nag nag....the only way for me to change the tails back to stock is to swap em with stock tails (which I have $30 on ebay)

Does it still light up amber? Also does the tint cut off a lot of the light?

 

the sides are a little darker than the tails so I lose about 50% of the original light, the tails lose about 20%. Still legal here in NV as the law specifies color for tails and sidemarkers, not lumens

 

O i thought u meant that yellow relector. on the head lights. i gotta bsp. so im going for an all blue look so i know im gettting blue overlays on the front and mirror turns. but that looks sick
