Anyone in the Grafx for car "vynal" biz?
Wunna know the about cost and details in getting a Carbon Fiber look vynal wrap for my whole xB.... Seems cheaper than doing all the panels in CF... think it could come out looking good? if so...i'm looking at buying
it would look like crap. faux CF is just black vinyl with little white rectangles printed on it. Guaranteed way to get the cart crew at WalMart to laugh at your car and post pictures on laughatrice.com
I do Vinyl Graphics and I would have to agree with the others It would look like crap. Small areas are ok but not the whole car. Just in case you want to pursue this AVERY makes the Vinyl CF and it is available in Black and White any place that sells Vinyl or your local sign shop would most likely sell it to you. Good Luck with that.
The biggest problem I can see is that carbon fiber-look vinyl does *not* stretch well. It's a calendered vinyl, and is pretty thick. The other issue is that if and when you *do* stretch it, you'll be throwing off the whole symmetry of the print.
A neat product they make now that I might buy to experiment with is clear carbon fiber vinyl. What it does is give the carbon look with your original color underneath.

So far the only real luck I've had with carbon fiber vinyl is flat surfaces. I mostly cut logo stickers out of it, but have done such things as the handle, freezer door and kick plate on my garage fridge.
