Default NEW HYUNDAI COUPE UNVEILED!

Hey all.

I know this is a tC site, but i'm a car guy, so when I see something interesting i figure everyone should know about it. Especially since it may influemce the next tC.

Hyndai has released images of their Genesis coupe today. Here's the Link:
http://www.leftlanenews.com/hyundai-...html#more-6800

It's a really attractive design, and the interior is amazing for a car that will have over 300HP and be less than a Mitsu Eclipse/ Ford Mustang GT. What do you guys think?

As for me, I hope Toyotas watching and taking notes, I'd love to see the next tC have similar qualities, and an even more attractive design.

looks like a Toyota Solara to me, or as if it has a "its been done before" appearance about it. IMO... it's just an OK car.. nothing i'd give the value of the tC for.

the question is who's going to be buying all the domain names relating to "genesis"...
genesis.com
genesistuner.com
genesislife.com (lolz)
genesisperformance.com
bla bla bla....

Yeah...alot about it looks like it's been done before. Atractive, yes (except the front end) but it has a "been there - done that" look to it.

but I AM likeing that it's a factory turbocharged rear wheel drive platform. the ONLY thing toyota needs to take from that is the RWD.

i HATE how hyundai's look like other cars...they have a jag look-a-like, one model reminds me of an accord..and now this one....they may run ok and be cheap, but cant they get some more original designs.....it does look good though..but so does the g35/altima/solara and anything else it looks like...

it looks like a 2 door elantra. cheap looking inside and out, and rather ugly. in other words, still a hyundai.

tiburon+g37

overall look didn't really change that much from the concept, but the front bumper on the concept looked way better.

I like that the previous model had a fairly original look to it.

The new 1 has classic looks, aside from the front end needing some refinement, IMO. I'd be interested what the price range will B.

Thumbs up overall.

Yeah, that front end really clashes with the rest of the car. You would expect something sporty and aggressive, and it's just not there.

I gotta give it to them on the interior though... form those pics it looks great.

You gotta love the push button ignition!!!

I have to agree with everyone else and say that it is a look alike. It looks too much like a cheap cross between a solara and the new lexus IS. It lacks originality. Now the new GT-R Skyline on the other hand is a beauty! I'm just sayin! Props to Nissan for that one.

well I see a solara nose thrown on an altima coupe ... which itself draws alot of design queues from the G35/37. It's a good looking car and a vast improvement on anything Hyundai has come out with in the past, seems to build on some of the "sporty" elements that have gone into recent Tiburon refreshed designs. Im fairly impressed with it as a whole, and seems to belong in its class, something almost no other Hyundai can say.

Personally, I don't think I could choose betweent he Genesis Coupe, Altima Coupe, or Accord Coupe right now, though I'm partial to the altima

I saw the concept at the Chicago auto show and it was definately a head turner. But then again what concept isnt?

The production model looks alot like the g35/g37 mixed with a solara.

It's so annoying how you noobs keep putting stupid stuff like this in the forced induction tC section. This site does have a general discussion forum, please use it and stop wasting everyone elses time!!! Mods, please move or close this thread.

Thanks!
