I need some advice on which suspension setup to go with. Really all I care about is comfortable ride. I don't care about lowering it, the stock height is fine. I had an 05 box that I put the monroe 5987 shocks on the rear but could not tell much difference in ride quality. Now I have a 06 box and I'm thinking about putting the 5601 shocks on the rear and the Monroe 72245 struts on the front, or trying the coilovers, maybe the tein basics, or whichever ones offer the best ride. I don't really want to spend the extra cash on coilovers but if they will give a much improved ride over the monroes then I will go for it. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Biggest drawback is that we lack the independent suspension in the rear....what size rims/tires are you running because that will affect the ride depending on the size...

Yea, the wheels and tire size definetly affect ride quality. I have 16 inch wheels with 205/50/16's. I went with the 205/50's because I thoought the taller tire would help the ride. I'm not sure if it did or not. It doesn't help that I have the Kumho Ecsta AST tires that seem to be very stiff. I took my wheels and tires off and put the stock wheels and tires on and it has a much better ride but I don't like the stock wheels at all. I thought about switching tires and going with 195/55/16's in a better tire but I think my money better spent on suspension upgrades. Thanks for the input.

Just buy my coilovers! ;)

Go with the Tein H-Techs or the Eibach Prokit for a better ride. The ride height will only be dropped by about 1.5 and you will have a better ride. Coilovers are nice too, but thats a lot of money in the long run when the coilover struts go bad.
I had them all and the H-Techs or Eibachs were both comfortable.

Soooooooo you're on stock springs 16's with some meaty tires, and you want the ride to get better than it is with monroes struts/shocks? Hows about a lift kit? You're not going to get lower and have a smoother ride home skillet. What you lose in inital impact bumpiness comfort you'll gain in body roll going through the twisty turnies. These cars definitely weren't made for long distance comfort cruising... (hence no cruise control factory option). Unless Doc Brown shows up on your door in reflective glasses and a hover conversion kit I think you're riding as soft as you can without your car looking kinda funny.

I heard you prescottn. I understand the box wasn't made for long trips but why not try and make it as comfortable as possible and still handle ok. So I'm going with the Monroe struts and shocks, tein h tech springs, and progressive rear sway.

I know the box wasn't made for speed but I'm going to try and get a couple extra horses and maybe have a box that handles ok and I don't feel every crack in the road. Then I can get some momentum in the corners LOL. I'm going with AEF CAI, Dc headers, and full header back exhuast w/ high flow converter and magnaflow muffler.

H tech springs and Monroes all around will give you a wonderful ride with your 16s.

progress coil overs and konis....about as good as It gets...no set up is great
